"Vintage" at Fashionable Stamping Challenges

"Looking Back"
Vintage, to me, refers to past years.
It could be childhood memories, or times before we were born.
To me it represents innocence and timelessness.
So with this mind I have created a scene that represents a young lady's reflection to her past years and innocence. The stylish young lady is the present and the child is the innocent past.
At Fashionable Stamping Challenges this fortnight it is all about Vintage...and how you interpret it.

Join us at Fashionable Stamping Challenges and be in with a chance to win a fabulous stamp from Marina at Cottage Crafts!
The white stamping is using versamark on white card and clear embossing before inking up the card.
The child was gold embossed at the same time, so that I could mask her amongst the flowers, when I had finished using the wild honey DI I masked her again to add deeper colours around her for effect.
The lady is stamped with black Stayzon ink onto quick laminate, and gilding flakes put behind her hat band and flowers and attached to card inked in vintage stains, cut and layered and mounted. There is some random stamping using flourishes on the background card.
Enjoy!
The stamps used are ~
Inkadinkadoo 807
Crafty Individuals CI - 277

The Inks are Distress Inks and Stayzon Black

Other stuff used is ~

"Make A Tag" ~ at Fashionable Stamping Challenges

Hello and welcome to everyone visiting my blog.
The theme at FSC this fortnight is to "Make a Tag"...and we all love this one!
I'm calling this one "Old Friend"
The Stampettes have gone all out and created some awesome tags!  They are such a talented lot of ladies.  Meet our uber talented new teamies!!! Pop on over and check them out at Fashionable Stamping Challenges. Marina from Cottage Crafts has a fantastic prize each fortnight, so ... I hope that you will be truly inspired, get the ink pads and stamps out and have a go...and, more than anything, have fun!
It's amazing how many different ways you can make a tag!

A wonderful friend of mine is moving to another city at the end of the year :(   So this tag was created with her in mind (you will be missed...)
She is British born and a has a gentle soul. A lady through and through!  I wanted to create a tag that reflected that somehow, and celebrated our friendship...ok, I love grunge, so it was difficult..lol...so I have come up with my version of  "friendly, feminine grunge". I hope you like it.
I was trying to think "outside the square" ~ so I went "outside the tag".  (sorry, couldn't resist that!)
I  had my first ever go at using DI that was mixed with water and painted onto an image. I think the watercolour effect is gorgeous, and gave me the look I was after.
Enjoy!
There's not much to this one really ~
The inks are Distressed inks (lots of blues and browns) and Memento Tuxedo Black.
The stamps are from Crafty Individuals (main image) and Tim Holtz (a flourish).
Embossing powder TH gold, and "Alison Ellis Design" in chocolate sparkle and true blue.
A gold leaf pen for highlighting the swirls.
And torn paper from Graphic 45 - "society page"

I am entering this tag in the following challenges ~
C.R.A.F.T. ~ Challenge #119 Children
Gingersnaps Creations ~"Gal Pal"
Aud Sentiments ~ For a Girl
Just For Fun ~ Vintage
Crafts 4-Eternity ~ Brown and Blue
