"Love Is In The Air"

 "Love Is In The Air"
Love is everywhere at FSC at the moment with half the team having anniversaries.
Congratulations everyone...and I hope you all get spoilt heaps by your families.
(Ellie ~ 25 years)
(Shirley ~ 30 years)
(Sylvia ~ 30 years)
(Caz ~ 40+)
(Paula ~ 28)
Our theme this fortnight at FSC is Nature
and I have chosen butterflies for my focus...hence the sounds of love is in the air.
And I send heaps of love to all my teamies who are celebrating!

My First Card
This card has been distressed to the max...in gorgeous pumice stone, black and dusty concord...and to make the whole lot pop...I added highlights of tumbled glass.
The heart stamp is on acetate (yes...again!) with stayzon ink
and coloured with aqualip pens on the flip side.
I was 3/4 finished with this easel card when I had an idea of throwing in some psychedelic pink butterflies...
and sprayed up some dylusional sprays, stamped the butterflies, added DI, cut and added in a way that the wings are raised.

This is a close up of the inside of the easel card to show you how well the colours go together.
I love distressing my inks!

My 2nd Card
For  a change of pace I have created a second card in black, white and silver.
The centre piece is a reverse embossing technique, where it is cut and joined together with the opposite colour.

The flourish highlights are shadow stamped and embossed because it is on shiny silver cardstock.
I also had my first go with my new cropodile.
I have layered the centrepiece and added lots of bling to bring out the femininity.
Yes...black and white can be feminine! lol

Thankyou to all my new followers, I hope you enjoy my journey.
And please, everyone head over to Fashionable Stamping Challenges and see what all the fashionettes have come up with for this theme...
Everyone is so very different and each person shows us nature at it's finest.

"Driving In My Car"

"Colour, Cogs and Cars"

Just thought I would have a dabble with a male card.
Have you noticed that they seem to be so handy...
but something we really don't seem to do until we have to.

I had so much fun with this card, mucking around with colours, cogs and cars.
The background is distressed in a very TH sort of way and is set off with a little EP.
The border is just doodle drawn with a fine liner...an idea I have gotten from Ellie at Fashionable Stamping Challenges.
A map is stamped onto some copy paper, scrunched, curled, inked up
and makes a wonderful embellishment for this travel piece.

I am entering this card into the following challenges ~
- Crafts 4 Eternity ~ Travel
- The Poodles Parlour ` Father's Day/ Male ( I have chosen for a male)
- Totally Papercrafts ~ Doodle on it ( I have doodled the border of the card and the tag)

"Don't Stop Playing Alice!"

"Mystical and Very Magical"
is the new challenge at Fashionable Stamping Challenges this fortnight...

I have been silently admiring the Alice in Wonderland style of card for some time and I love the whole magical/fantasy world that everyone creates.
It is always so much fun...
So I decided to give it a go this time.

When I saw this image it reminded me of the Saturday nights when a group of families in our neighborhood would get together and have a card night (Pontoon)...each family took turns to host the night.
Those nights were the best fun and I have great memories of sneaking a sip of my dad's beer when mum wasn't watching, and finally being big enough to join in...
but only on the games that were for matches.  lol

I found the larger card stamp and thought it would make a great mask
(you could win a hand of Pontoon with a jack and 7 if you were lucky!)
Alice and the deck of cards is masked and the playing cards are positioned as a backdrop and foreground piece.
And then cut with a nestability using the out of the box technique (I have so much fun with this technique)
They are all layered with mounting foam.

The background is a little difficult to see, but it is distressed inked, splattered, stenciled and overstamped with keys and clocks.
I have stuck some Jak paper onto cardstock and die cut the flourish...after peeling the top layer off I added some crystal glitter.

Can you see the queen of hearts???
Above Alice is a die cut heart with a crown that has been stamped on acetate and glittered...
Get it??? lol
(that's my clever bit for this week)

I hope you enjoy the amazing DT pieces over at FSC and get out all your glitter and wings and wands and all things mystical and magical and join us for this fortnights theme...
