Secret Santa at FSC

And so the postie has arrived with a
HUGE parcel!!!
What have I ordered from overseas that is that big???
My son says, with raised eyebrows…”.it’s Royal Mail mum,
so it must be important…”
Then I see Brenda from Bumblebee’s and Butterfly’s name on the package!
ahhhh!!! It is the Secret Santa swap at FSC!!!!

Joanna came up with a playful idea of using our “Surprise Us” challenge
as a Secret Santa swap amongst the fashionettes…
to make it even more of a surprise!

I was laughing as I opened my parcel because Brenda was the one I had posted mine to.
You’ll see the instructions on how this wonderful shadow box was created here.
It took like 5 seconds to find a place to hang it…
and I still keep just looking at it. It is amazing in real life.

There is soooo much attention to detail in this shadow box
from the back to the outside of the box!

This is the front corner detail of the shadow box.

The frame is sooo silky smooth!

Brenda, you have inspired me yet again ~ already I have some paints ordered,
I am on the lookout for bits and pieces (and a shadow box!).
I have one of my pieces in being framed and I’ll be using one of Brenda’s ideas in the final assembly before the glass goes on…
but I will show you that in another post when it is all done –
it is all so exciting!
So funny and totally wonderful where you get inspiration from isn’t it!

And this is the gorgeous card that was sent along with the Secret Santa.
Thankyou so much Brenda for all your effort!

I hope you also enjoyed your Secret Santa :)))

Planes, Trains and Automobiles

This is just one of those cards that started out as an experiment, then turned grunge!
And that’s ok.
This is the experimental part.
The funny thing is that I really liked this just the way it is…
it is inked, stamped on, torn pages from an old book added – and inked some more.
And I added texture with holey tissue paper.
Just a whole lot of fun really!!!
What I haven’t shown is when I then splatted some bleach on, added more torn bits and then inked over it in blue hues.
My discovery for this fortnight is that you can paint the bleach on and have a more controlled area to work with instead of just splatters.
Then I had a break and came back in a grunge frame of mind!!!
I had no idea what to do with my background.
So I grunged it with black,
kept the main image simple
and added a grungy flower!
This flower is my favourite bit…I followed a tutorial in Craft Stamper
using kraft glassine (July 2012 issue)
and this was the first card that I’ve made that it seemed to go on beautifully.

Marina at Cottage Crafts is offering an online voucher to her store for the winner,
runners up and spotlights are up for grabs to!
The Fashionettes have some gorgeous inspiration for you so please pop on over to
FSC and check them all out and leave a little love…

These girls are amazing each and every time they create something!
Please be inspired and join in the fun…

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges ~

“Vintage” at VSC

“Boudoir Belle”
Vintage is old-world, pretty and feminine – and nothing says it more than a belle!
This month we would love to see some vintage cards at
Vintage Stamping Challenges,
maybe even using some of your new stash if you like.

Vintage is sooo much fun and can be many things,
so I went for sexy, in an old-fashioned way!
I’ve had this stamp a little while but haven’t had the courage to use her…
until now. And I thought she would be perfect for this challenge.

Flonz craft has some gorgeous vintage stamps to choose from,
and I have used the Girl Reclining On Couch as my main image.
The new stash that I have used is a selection of Graphic 45 papers
that arrived just before xmas…
so I decided to try and create a boudoir scene!

The girls have gone all out to inspire you this month
with some incredible vintage inspiration!

Flonzcraft is generously offering $20 to spend at their online store,
along with the Highly Desirable pics
and Flonz himself (Leo) pics his favourite too!
So please come join in the fun of vintage
and see what you can create.
