"Sew and Sew"

Sew and Sew

I do own a sewing machine,
it is at the bottom of my bedroom cupboard.
It comes out every year...or two...
and I have to spend an hour reading up how to thread it
before I can go ahead and start doing the mending
~ which takes about 5 mins...

I just don't sew...
so when this challenge came up at
Fashionable Stamping Challenges
I decided to represent all of you non-sewers out there...and fake it!
And that's ok!!!
It even has a fancy name...faux stitching!

This card is my take on a card created by Kay Carley in The Craft Stamper.
I just used the stamps that I had ( from Crafty Individuals - CI 226)
and added my own flare to it (a little ripping in this case).

You see this is a challenge for anyone,
You can follow the theme, or do some sewing on a card, or make a sewing project
or follow my lead and fake it
~ as long as there is some stamping on it and you are having fun
then you can play along too.

The girls at FSC have come up with some inspiring and very different versions on this theme.
Please pop on over and check out the awesomeness of the fashionettes,
be inspired and maybe join in the fun.
Flonzcraft are our sponsors and have a generous $20 gift voucher up for grabs,
there are spotlights and a top 3 as well.

A fabulous card Dot, love the tearing and faux stitching. You are so funny with your explanation about the sewing machine, but you have a great 'fake'.

Gorgeous Dot! Though I sewed for most of my life, it has been nearly a decade since I threaded my machine. What was once second nature is no longer. Pity, I did enjoy it! Perhaps one day! Love the way you position your images. It looks o natural! Have a fabulous week. Best, Yvonne

A little different for you Dot, but a really delightful card, I can see the Kay inspiration coming through but with your own individual touch.

Wow Dot, it is a great take on Kay Carley's make, I just love the ripping you did and the wonderful scene you created - it is gorgeous. I love sewing but am terrified to do it on card for some reason....we both really ought to give it a try... Hugs, Anne x

Gorgeous design. The image is beautiful. My sewing machine is at the bottom of a closet as well. It comes out occasionally for repairs or hems, but then I need the book to remind me how to use it :) Cheers, Shirleyx
