"A Rose By Any Other Name"

"Just For Me"
is the challenge this month at VSC...with the twist of making something for yourself.

I have gone with something that I just sit out and reflect on.
And because it is for me, I decided a single rose on a calming background would suit.
It is one that I can look at and feel at peace with.

This card is meant to be uplifting,  It is a reminder to love yourself and stay positive...and trust in yourself.
The bird represents the journey that each of us are on and to not be afraid to go forth.
The sentiment is for grounding.
A little deep, but it is for me to reflect on after all...

It is subtle, but there is a heart behind the rose, found here
which I have accented with some charcoal.
There is a little bleach on the rose to act as a spotlight.
I decided to add the extra rose leaves to give a floating effect.

The background is a mixture of stamping with lids (from the toothpaste as this is a really nice size), stamping and splotches and a little ripping...

I hope you take the time to pop over to
Vintage Stamping Challenges
and check out the amazing talent and ideas from the team.
Flonzcraft is offering a generous $20 gift voucher to the winner,
he offers an occasional spot prize
and there is always a top 3!

Enjoy!

This is one of those cards that makes you sigh when you look at it Dot. It has a beautiful and definitely calming effect on the mind. It reminds me of one of the last roses of a late Summer and a very early soft sprinkling of snow falling.

Clearly you put so much thought into this one Dot and I think you are right about the calming influence it reflects, a lovely piece.
