‘What a Year’

2014…and the journey continues…

It is that time of year again when I do a wrap up of the year that was ~ and it sure has been one of the most challenging and inspiring years for me.
I started with my ‘skates on’ as a guest designer
for ‘The Artistic Stamper’ in England…
which was absolutely mind-boggling as I couldn’t be further away from England if I tried, blogging is a wonderful thing!
Then I joined in the fun with the on-line design team
for ‘The Craft Stamper’ magazine…and learnt so much from an incredibly talented group of girls…

My amazing journey with Fashionable Stamping Challenges (love you girls to the moon and back) continues, and grows.  They were the first to ever take a chance on me…
and for that I am (and always will be) forever grateful.

I also made the decision to become a consultant for Kaszazz, a 100% Australian owned and operated card/scrapbooking company – and look forward to the adventure that that will be.

And I have finished the year off with being invited to be a designer for an Australian card making magazine
(that one took me by surprise!),
for an issue due out next year…heaps of pressure!!!
but boy, it was soooo much fun!!!  And now I learn patience πŸ™

And I would do all of it again in a heart-beat.

When I make cards I pretty much just do my own thing.
I still don’t know what my ‘style’ is, but being inky and creative is still the best fun!
It is also around this time of year when I show pics of my top 5 favourite cards that I have designed this year…so here they are…

This one was made after doing Kate Crane’s ‘Journal Soup 2’
– and playing with ‘doodling’ some more.

This one is using Wendy Vecchi’s special background technique.

Bleach Blocking technique.

Just some carefree Summer fun!

And I just like the message on this one…

ummmm….I wonder what next year will bring???

A huge thank you to those of you who believe in me, inspire me, teach me, support me
and share the love each time you stop by.
Feeling blessed πŸ™‚

From me and mine, to you and yours,
I wish you all a very safe Christmas. And bring on 2015!!!

I am joining in the fun at A Scrapjourney:My Favourite 5 of 2014

“Things are HOT at FSC!”

Heat It Up!!!
That’s right…it’s heat gun time
And it is our last challenge for the year.  This one will run for a month so that we can all enjoy the season, friends and family.  We look forward to seeing you again in 2015!
On with the challenge ~
there are so many things that you can use your heat gun for, and
if you are like me you probably use one with just about every project that you work on, without even thinking twice about it.
I know that it is a busy time of year, but if you need a break from the maddening crowd…and feel like a little crafty play…
then this is a nice easy challenge for you!
For this challenge I have decided to make just one more chrissy card.  I was quite taken with the idea of creating a vintagey bauble that looked real…and this is what I have come up with.
Firstly, for the background I have clear embossed some snowflakes
– heat gunned it!
Then I wrinkle free distressed it
– heat gunned it!
The small bauble (with Santa) is triple clear embossed
– heat gunned it!

The Santa image was heat-set before the embossing
– heat gunned it!

And to finish off, I randomly added some silver embossing powder on the edge of the card and bauble
– heat gunned it!
I’m starting to feel a little like ‘Annie Get Your Gun’ lol.
The girls at FSC have come up with some inspiring and very different versions on the theme this time.
Please pop on over and check out the awesomeness of the fashionettes,
be inspired and maybe join in the fun.
Flonzcraft are our sponsors this fortnight and have a generous $20 gift voucher up for grabs,
there are spotlights and a top 3 as well.

Remember, stamping must be the focal point of your creation…and then just follow the theme and you are win with a chance of winning!

I would also like to thank you all for some pretty awesome comments left on my blog this year ~ you have given me encouragement and support in ways that I can’t explain ~ and thank you also for taking the time to follow my blog.
A few people have decided to move on from here so I really do appreciate those of you who have stayed.  And a big thank you to those of you who are new to my journey…
you never know what is ahead πŸ˜‰
Thank you!

…and a very Merry Xmas from me and mine
to you and yours!!!
