Classic Visible Image

It's in the Eyes

It is my turn over at Visible Image...and I couldn't resist playing with the Vision INKognito set!

This eye has had me transfixed for sooo long.
The challenge for me was to show it a little differently.
The girls on the Visible Image team have inspired me to go that bit brighter...occasionally.

The colours for the background are made using Ultramarine brushos.
I only got this colour because the store was out of the turquoise one (which I really, really wanted...and still do!)
However, I discovered that it disperses into purple and blues!!!
I looove how it does that!
...and the blue becomes a bright sky blue when you add a little bleach.  So I ended up with my turquoise shades anyway!
Sometimes with the other colours the bleach leaves white splotches, but for some reason (must be a science behind it) not with this one.

After experimenting at the kitchen table I have made a few discoveries ~
 Less is more!!!
Less is more!!!
Less is more!!!
You can blot it with paper toweling at any time to stop the blending process, which can lighten the intense colour, or...whenever you want to stop the process and keep the colour - then hit it with the heat gun.  So...you have choices.
And the colours are amazing!

The eyes were done with Inktense pencils in colours to match the brushos.
And I touched up the background with a little Wilted Violet DI, taking to the top and bottom corners and to blend out the blues and purples of the Ultramarine.

The stamps used were:
Vision INKcognito set and Ink Splats.  Both awesome stamp sets!

Hi Dot, great job!!! I love brushos and creative expressions pixie powders (very similar but have mica in them). They are great fun especially if you wet the paper first - they explode with colour!!! Really effective Dot, stunning use of colour! Lots of love, Leanne xx

Absolutely fabulous! Love the colours (love Brushos) and the simplicity of the eye in the midst of a burst of colour. Not that I think this would have been 'simple' to do - how on earth did you manage to keep the eye clear of Brushos? Masking?
Hugs, Neet x
