Live in the Moment
is one of the most beautiful stamp sets from Visible Image.
There are many however I keep coming back to this one.
Other creations that I’ve made with this set can be seen here and here.
A little distressing in the background,
some alcohol ink on Yupo paper for the dragonfly,
finishing with a little doodling and a simple card comes to life.

Awesome Autumn!

Awesome Autumn
Well it’s really Spring in my part of the world and I’m having so much fun with the Autumn theme in the Northern hemisphere, the colours are so lush!!!
When thinking of a different way to use the
and was going through all the different ways that we jump for joy…
and remembered when I was little, up at my nana’s place, where I would rake up all the leaves and do a running jump into what seemed like a huge pile of Autumn leaves.
…and came up with this card.
Just bought myself a Misti for stamping…
and found that I used it heaps in this make.
The background leaf (from the Colours of the Wind set) was stamped in one colour of distress inks, then re-stamped with a little bit of another colour, and then again with a tiny bit of black soot around the edges.
Haven’t seen this technique anywhere when looking for instructions on how to use the Misti, so I guess it’s my own discovery.
(well that’s my story anyway lol)

FSC – Trees

is our theme this month at FSC.
We all have some tree stamps right?  Now is your chance to play with them to your heart’s content.
This card is a simple Christmas card. Christmas seems to creep up on us doesn’t it?
The background is made using a mix of blue alcohol inks.
I love how this gives a real mottled effect, perfect for a night sky.
When you add drop or two of the blending solution, let it sit for a minute and then blot, it has a bleaching effect.
After working out roughly where the words would go, I used the blending solution to lighten this area.
The trees is a stamp from Stampendous called
‘Silent Night’
To finish I have splattered some white paint from a paint pen…I think it adds that starry night look. And a little white gel pen around the branches finishes this card off.

The girls at FSC have come up with some inspiring and very different versions on the same theme.
Please pop on over and check out the awesomeness of their creativity,
be inspired, and maybe join in our fun.
Flonzcraft are our sponsors this fortnight and have a generous $20 gift voucher up for grabs,
there are spotlights and a top 3 picked by the DT as well.
Stamping must be the focal point on your project!
