Bold and Beautiful

Bold and Beautiful
is one of the sayings from the 'Own It' set
which was released earlier this year.

For this card I've teamed it up with the 'Create It' set.
I love how the flowers look like they are facing the sky.

These stamp sets can be put together in so many
creative ways.
Some doodling has been added to an inky background for a slightly different look and
the flowers have simply been cut out and added in.

Stamp sets used are:
Create It

Own It

Paloma came to visit!

Paloma
is the dove of peace.

Lys sent the dove on her journey around the world late in 2015.

You can find out more about the Dove of Peace's journey here.

While in Australia Paloma went to work with me.
A Christian secondary collage.
The look of absolute awe and amazement from each student and teacher that I showed her to was overwhelming.

They all wanted to know the Paloma story, where she had been and where she was going.
Each person took their time to let the message sink in
and were enjoying it for what it represents.
So powerful.
So beautiful.

The card is absolutely gorgeous and signed by each crafter as Paloma continues her jouney.

The passport is a record of each person along the way.
And a larger symbol of the dove comes along too.

Safe travels Paloma!!! ... tomorrow she is on her way to America!

Rubber Dance - Black & White + One

Black & White + 1 Colour
is our new theme at Rubber Dance

April the giraffe who is about to give birth
at the Animal Adventure Park in the U.S.
has captured my imagination for the last 4 weeks!
Is anyone else waiting for April? Lol

So it is with April on my mind that the Giraffe stamp
was used on this card.

The background for this was stamped using an acrylic block and black soot ink...in layers.

A little masking was used to have the flowers from the Textured Flowers set
look as if they are wrapping around the background

And then the Pop of red was added to one of the flowers.

Stamp used were:

Giraffe

Textured Flowers

Visible Image, Image Transfer

Visible Image, Image Transfer

This fortnight I've done something a little different
for Visible Image.
Combining the 'Free Soul' stamp
with an image transfer background.

The rustic finish to the image transfer really appeals to me with this one.
No - it's not a picture of me.
(you thought it was me didn't you lol)
It's a random one from a magazine.

Then the words are stamped to give a crisp contrast to the background.
The drips on the edges are also stamped to help frame it.

Stamps used are:

Favourites at FSC

The Sound of Music
was the inspiration for this challenge.

For our challenge at FSC we ask that you either channel the
Sound of Music
Raindrops on roses
And whiskers on kittens
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens
Brown paper packages tied up with strings
These are a few of my favorite things

Or...
chose your favourite stamp!

wow...there so many possibilities!
Kittens, cats, raindrops cosy kitchens, paper bags, string
or favourite stamps.

One of my favourite stamps is this little girl.

She reminds me so much of me.
Or is it just my imagination?

This is me when at about the age of 1...just starting to walk.
A little younger than the girl in the stamp though lol.

We have Mother's Day coming up next month
so you know where this one is going :)

The girls at FSC have come up with some inspiring and very different versions on the same theme.
Please pop on over and check out the awesomeness of their creativity,
be inspired, and maybe join in our fun.
Flonzcraft are our sponsors this fortnight and have a generous $20 gift voucher up for grabs,
there are spotlights and a top 3 picked by the DT as well.

Stamping must be the focal point on your project!

Just a reminder that I am a stockist of Visible Image, Rubber Dance and Stampendous stamps in Australia.
...so, exciting times ahead. Details are on my sidebar, along with my e-mail addy for any enquiries.

Rubber Dance Colour Challenge - April

Colour Challenge at Rubber Dance

Wow, it's the start of a new month already and with it brings a new challenge
at Rubber Dance.
April sees us with a very classical colour combo.

This card was just a lot of playing around and having fun with different mediums.
The background is brayered Fresco Finish paints.
Some stamping using the heart from the Beautiful Words set has been randomly stamped with gesso with a little shading added around each one to make them pop a little.

The words were added on tissue paper.
By doing this way the chances of the words being straight was in my favour.

The flowers were stamped straight onto the background
but they seemed to disappear a little
so I stamped them again onto white card and cut out the flower part for a more striking white effect. Attaching them and trimming off the excess from the edges.

Weed Love for a border, some splashes of white paint and
that was all that was needed.

Stamps used from Rubber Dance are:

Antique Botanicals

Beautiful Words

Destination Unknown

Destination Unknown
is one of the fun new releases from Visible Image.
The paper hats/boats and planes reminded me of so many fun times as a kid...and even now seeing as I work at a school lol.

Gee, how much fun was it to see Visible Image back on Create & Craft?
The time difference fitted perfectly for me so I was able to watch it too.

This set has so many words to choose from that would be handy for a wide range of projects.
So words, all of them, became the backdrop for this card!

The words were stamped with picket fence distress paint and then gone over with distress inks...with some shadowing added.

The arrows were added to represent Adventure.
Like a treasure map.
The cat from Create It represents Explore.
As cats do!
And the paper planes represent Journey.
The paper planes come in three sizes with is an added bonus too.

Stamp sets used are:

Garden Magic with ATC's

Antique Botanicals
is such a beautiful set of stamps from
Elegant, very feminine and totally irresistible.

For this challenge I've put together a set of three ATC's.
The painty background was full of colour with splotches of white here and there.
It seemed just right to add some images stamped onto tissue paper from the Antique Botanicals set. The flowers are all so different and I wanted to show each one off separately.

Rubber Dance Blog

My card uses the Retro Beach set.
This set, although used here on a card, is ideal for so many different types of projects including ATC's, scrapbooking and background stamping in art journals.

This Retro Beach set was so much fun to use!
The background for this was a play with Fresco Finish paints, using my fingers to apply...
and then using bubble wrap to add another layer.
The background has images from the set, stamped onto tissue paper and applied to the painty back drop.
Finishing with a little layering of some random images from the set.

The discovery for me this time is how awesome the bubble wrap is after you have used it a few times and the paint has dried.  It hardens up and has some really interesting effects.
(yes, it's the little things - always!)

The next stop from my blog is....

have fun hopping!!!
And good luck

FSC Modes of Transport

Modes of Transport
is this month's theme at FSC

There are so many types of transport to pick from: bikes, boats, trains, planes, cars, tractors..the list goes on.
 A challenge for everyone!
This stamp of a bike on a bridge has been in my stash of stamps for some time and is one that hasn't been used very often
so it was great opportunity to get it out and play.

This card uses a picture stamp as the focal image.
The inking is kept fairly simple and used to give a slight highlight to the image.
The bike on the bridge tells the story all by itself. So peaceful and reflective. The butterflies were an after-thought but somehow it manages to bring the whole piece together.

By keeping the background in neutral tones it helps to bring out the colouring of the image that little bit more.
