Pink Your Life…with Pixies

Whisper Wall
is a gorgeous stamp designed by Nicoletta Zanelli
for Stampendous…and is part of the Pink Your Life series.
Anyone is welcome to leave a comment (I love reading your comments), but if you are from Australia then please type the name of your town in the comment that you leave
and you will be in the draw for an awesome Pink Your Life stamp.

Here is how it works…
all you need to do is leave a comment on this blog and leave the Aussie town that you live in (click on the ‘comment’ link at the bottom of this post and leave a comment) to be in the draw to win this stamp…
An extra entry is given for each of the designer’s blogs that you leave a comment on (listed below).
My blog = 1 entry
4 blogs = 4 entries.

For this challenge I’ve decorated my art brushes container!
Up until now it was an empty Chai container…

Here is a picture of the container before I changed it, and after.
It looks so much better in my workspace!

Below is a picture of the mixed media background that was so much fun to create.

The pixies were masked and stamped in a long row to so that they would fit around the tin.

Now it was time to put them all together!
These pics show the tin from different sides.

Click on the links below to be taken to some awesome inspiration,
 leave a comment,
and increase your chances of winning this stamp:
remember, the more blogs you visit and leave a comment the greater chance you have of winning!

Jelly Fish

Dare To Swim
is one of the new stamp releases from Visible Image.
Blue Bottles are the jellyfish in our region that we often see washed up on the beach…painful too if you go swimming when they are about! They are only tiny, but they pack a fair punch.
This set has everything!
from jellyfish, to weed, to fish, to bubbles – along with a sentiment.
For this card my distress crayons were used for the background.
It gives a lovely muted look and reminds me of what it looks like underwater.
The drips are done with the crayons too – so versatile!

Lots of Layers

Lots Of Layers
is the new challenge at Rubber Dance for the second half of Feb.
This card has some hidden layers underneath the top layers.
For this a Sizzix die came in handy…just to add some random holes, showing pops of colour through the matting.
The next layer of layers…comes in the background itself…
finishing off with flowers layered on top.
This was just a whole lot of inky fun to make!!!
Again the The Textured Flowers set, with loads of extra little stamps in it, has come in handy for all of the layers.
Stamps used from Rubber Dance:
You will find a whole lot of inspiration over at the Rubber Dance blog…with loads of creative ideas for you to try.
Please join in the fun and be in the running for some Rubber Dance stamps.

It’s Just A Number

It’s Just A Number
at FSC this month.
That can be anything to do with clocks, special age, birthdays, anniversary, random numbers whatever you like really with numbers.
I’ve made a door!
Now…you might think that is an awfully looong street with this number on the door? Probably the longest street in the world!
After making the door I couldn’t think what number to put on it…
so I’ve used my birthday numbers lol
A little while ago I received a lovely surprise package from Shirley with door stamps in it (thanks so much Shirley). This was the perfect opportunity to use them.
The background was some scrap card from some experimenting with alcohol inks.  It had a gorgeous streaky effect. A wood grain stamp over the top of it gave it some character ~ and then the stamps did the rest.
I think it looks kind of real.
The girls at FSC have come up with some inspiring and very different versions on the same theme.
Please pop on over and check out the awesomeness of their creativity,
be inspired, and maybe join in our fun.
Flonzcraft are our sponsors this fortnight and have a generous $20 gift voucher up for grabs,
there are spotlights and a top 3 picked by the DT as well.

Stamping must be the focal point on your project!

Just a reminder that I am a stockist of Visible Image, Rubber Dance and Stampendous stamps in Australia.
…so, exciting times ahead. Details are on my sidebar, along with my e-mail addy for any enquiries.

Jazzing it up.

Jazzing It Up

I started the year off with the trumpet player from this set last month, so it’s only fair that the sax player gets a viewing too.

Having heaps of fun playing with Distress Crayons for this card.
Distress Crayons are so much fun to play with, you could keep playing with them for ages.
It gives a real ‘arty’ feel to the finished piece.
The card used was a larger size than I needed, so the left-over bits were really handy to use for the keyboard effect around the edge, along with the sentiment and punched circles which were added for extra interest.

I’m getting excited for the arrival of new stamps that are being released this month by Visible Image.
