Bold and Beautiful

Bold and Beautiful
is one of the sayings from the ‘Own It’ set
which was released earlier this year.
For this card I’ve teamed it up with the ‘Create It’ set.
I love how the flowers look like they are facing the sky.
These stamp sets can be put together in so many
creative ways.
Some doodling has been added to an inky background for a slightly different look and
the flowers have simply been cut out and added in.
Stamp sets used are:
Create It

Under The Sea

Under The Sea

A new stamp released by Stampendous is the focus of this month’s blog hop by The Stencil Specialist
It is called “Stylized Whale”
and was designed by Fran Seiford, the owner of Stampendous.
The stamp is a great size for card making!
Here is how it works…
all you need to do is leave a comment on this blog and leave the Aussie town that you live in to be in the draw to win this stamp…

An extra entry is given for each of the designer’s blogs that you leave a comment on (listed below).
My blog = 1 entry
4 blogs = 4 entries.

You have until the 28th of April to enter this hop.

The background uses distress crayons.
The main image has been masked, combining two stamps together, Stylized Whale and Pearl Mermaid, cut out and layered onto a panel with a little stenciling to continue the bubble effect.

Paloma came to visit!

is the dove of peace.
Lys sent the dove on her journey around the world late in 2015.
You can find out more about the Dove of Peace’s journey here.
While in Australia Paloma went to work with me.
A Christian secondary collage.
The look of absolute awe and amazement from each student and teacher that I showed her to was overwhelming.
They all wanted to know the Paloma story, where she had been and where she was going.
Each person took their time to let the message sink in
and were enjoying it for what it represents.
So powerful.
So beautiful.

The card is absolutely gorgeous and signed by each crafter as Paloma continues her jouney.
The passport is a record of each person along the way.
And a larger symbol of the dove comes along too.
Safe travels Paloma!!! … tomorrow she is on her way to America!

Rubber Dance – Black & White + One

Black & White + 1 Colour
is our new theme at Rubber Dance

April the giraffe who is about to give birth
at the Animal Adventure Park in the U.S.
has captured my imagination for the last 4 weeks!
Is anyone else waiting for April? Lol

So it is with April on my mind that the Giraffe stamp
was used on this card.

The background for this was stamped using an acrylic block and black soot ink…in layers.

A little masking was used to have the flowers from the Textured Flowers set
look as if they are wrapping around the background

And then the Pop of red was added to one of the flowers.

Stamp used were:
Textured Flowers

Visible Image, Image Transfer

Visible Image, Image Transfer

This fortnight I’ve done something a little different
for Visible Image.
Combining the ‘Free Soul’ stamp
with an image transfer background.
The rustic finish to the image transfer really appeals to me with this one.
No – it’s not a picture of me.
(you thought it was me didn’t you lol)
It’s a random one from a magazine.
Then the words are stamped to give a crisp contrast to the background.
The drips on the edges are also stamped to help frame it.
