Anything Goes at FSC

It’s time for the first challenge of the year
at Fashionable Stamping Challenges.

And to start the year off we have an
‘ANYTHING GOES’
theme.

The Floral Wreath stamp set from Rubber Dance
caught my eye for this challenge.

It has been coloured with Jane Davenport smooth markers, cut out and
placed on an Artist Trading Coin made with
Distress Inks.
The smaller flowers are from the same set along with the corner detail.
The background was made with Distress Inks smooched onto a craft sheet
and applied with a piece of acetate.
This gives you a little more control than random dabbing.

Have you ever wondered what to do with an Artist Trading Coin?
This is one way that you can use them.

The girls at FSC have come up with some inspiring and very different takes on this theme. Please pop on over and check out their awesome creativity, be inspired and maybe join in the fun.

Ink Art Designs is our sponsor this month (that’s my Etsy shop) and has a gorgeous stamp to give away to one lucky winner chosen by random org.

We also have a top 3 chosen by the design team and Saturday Spotlights where we showcase inspirational makes.

Thank you for looking,

It’s Winter at FSC

Hi everyone and welcome to the new challenge at
Fashionable Stamping Challenges.

This month we would love to see your Winter projects.
My tag uses a snowman from Rubber Dance.

The background has some paint, stenciling and texture paste to build up a wintry background.
The stamp is Mr. Frosty and can be found here.
The beauty of using a snowman is that you don’t have to colour it in very much!
And this one I found very easy to cut out.

How cute is he!!!

A while ago I decided to start a tag journal. I’m glad to have another one to add to another page in my journal.

FSC – Resist

Hi everyone and welcome to a new challenge
at Fashionable Stamping Challenges.

This month we ask you to join us with a challenge using the
RESIST technique.
There are many different types of resist that you might enjoy playing with,
including embossing powders, crayons, paint, gesso, gel mediums and more.

My card uses white embossing powder.

I’ve used the Blossom Scroll stamp from Stampendous for my background.
This stamp is 6″ x 6″ and is perfect for an embossed background.

Different shades of blue distress inks
were blended over the top of the white embossing powder.
Any ink left on the EP was wiped off with a slightly damp cloth.

The butterflies are a Rubber Dance stamp called “Butterfly Trio”.
They were simply stamped onto some scrap card
that had been coloured with a contrasting distress ink
and then cut out.

The girls at FSC have come up with some inspiring and very different takes on this theme. Please pop on over and check out their awesome creativity, be inspired and maybe join in the fun.

FSC Book Page Challenge

Hi everyone and welcome to a new challenge
at Fashionable Stamping Challenges.

This month we are asking you to join in with a book page project.  This can be a card, an art journal page with torn book page in the background, or canvas with book page bits on it.

For my inspiration I’ve made a card.

I’ve used the stamp ‘Joy’ from Carabelle Studio along with the splatter stamp in the ‘Somewhere in Time’ set from Visible Image. To give the girl something to sit on, and ground her, I’ve added a little washi tape from Ranger.

The girl has been stamped onto water colour card, fussy cut and 3-D’ed.  With a little bit of cotton behind her (just for fun).

FSC Use A Quote

Hi everyone and welcome to the new challenge at
Fashionable Stamping Challenges.

This month we would love to see you use a quote on your project.
My inspiration is a mixed media card using inks, paints and alcohol markers.

A gelli background came in handy for this card. The stars from the Merry Magpie stamp set from Rubber Dance were stamped straight onto the brayered gelli-plate and gave a fun effect.
When you use your gelli-plate it is great to keep playing and build up a little collection of backgrounds.
Before you know it you’ll have a stash of fun backgrounds for future projects.

The main stamp is one that has been in my collection for some time but hadn’t got around to using.
It is a Phyllis Harris stamp from Unity.
This set comes with words which are used with this girl image.

The clothes and shoes are painted with alcohol markers and some white paint was added to the background to give a cloudy effect. The whiteness of background at this stage was knocked back with the some background stamping using pink archival ink.
Extra stars were added through a Visible Image Stencil using white acyrlic paint.
I had another large star stamp (not sure where it is from though) and decided to stamp it onto some scrap card from the same gelli-plate piece with brown archival ink.

The girls at FSC have come up with some inspiring and very different takes on this theme. Please pop on over and check out their awesome creativity, be inspired and maybe join in the fun.
