Anything Goes at Fashionable Stamping Challenges

This is my very first design for the new Fashionable Stamping Challenge…pop on over and check out the stunning designs by the other very talented ladies. They are sooo clever!!! Their cards are amazing.  “Anything Goes” is the first challenge.  I am looking forward to checking out all the entries that come in too. Have fun stamping! There are 2 prizes up for grabs to start with…and keep an eye out for the DT call that will be coming up soon. xxx
Thanks Marina at Cottage Crafts for the prizes
Congratulations Shirley and Andrew!

Happy, carefree, natural, precious and forever

~ are some of the feelings I wanted to get across with this card.
It’s like it’s full of nature’s little secrets….playful.
I was having a play with this card by using the resist technique….the white ferns are stamped in versamark and clear embossed.
Then I have coloured the rest of the card with distress inks (some of my favourite colours).  I ironed off the embossing and then overstamped some ferns using the same inks as the background.
The butterflies are just stamped and embossed on patterned paper with some copic touch ups to add more depth to the colours.
The centrepiece is also then covered with UTEE and frozen and cracked.
The stamp is from Tim H collections.

Flying High

A friend of mine is in the outback of Australia, living his dream and I wanted to make a card that reflects the colours of the outback and the journey he is on….( he isn’t a suit guy…but it’s the only male stamp I had! )
I have had a real challenge with this one…It was great fun doing the background (starting with white card) and added heaps of DI ~ Vintage, Wild Honey, Peeled Paint, Dusty Concord, Broken China and edged with Black Soot…I really wanted to highlight the silhouette feel of the card. You know, I absolutely love how the ranger inks blend together so well and you can do anything with them. I then overstamped with some writing, but used the background colours to ink it up with. The birds are from Tim’s collection…and I partially stamped them, die cut them and used my new UTEE and cracked it…then added it (raised on foam) above the image on the card. (gee, did that make sense?) ~ so, like a hand made embellishment I guess.  the writing is aged photcopy paper, using the same inks again, scrunching, spraying, ironing and ripping…and Black Soot around the edge to make it pop a little….Maybe good for a father’s day card???

From Days Gone By…

I was over the moon when my first Tim H stamps arrived this week, so I combined the words and flourish with some vintage stamps that I had  (from Inkadinkado and Stamp It) and came up with this card.  There is the ripping and distressing that I love to do.  This was also my first go at relief stamping…so the swirl on the right is stamped with watermark ink and clear embossed before inking up the card with Barn Door, Wild Honey, Scattered Straw and Vintage DI.  The white pearl sprays really look good with the white swirl in the background and with the lace it seems to have a nice sense of balance I think….The lace, flowers, and pearls are from my stash.  The only card stock that I used where a deep red, chocolate brown and white card…
Enjoy!

And The Little One Said…Roll Over…

The teddies here remind me of when my kids were born and each were given a teddy to cuddle till they eventually broke…boys just love their teddies, don’t they?

I loved putting this card together…I got some inspiration from blogworld with the cutout pieces of card (and apologies to the wonderful person who did this, I can’t remember your blog to give you the credit) and some from an ad on tv which showed a slash of colour being ripped across the screen…so I picked the colours that I like to work with (broken china, chipped sapphire and peeled paint) and put those two ideas into this card.

The techniques that I love to work with are used in this card…ripping, masking, embossing, working magic with ranger distress inks and spraying with perfect pearls mist!
The bears are gorgeous, just a simple stamp (from Inkadinkado) that has been masked and stamped five times.  I have then coloured them with copics (E000, E00, E11, E35) and the bow ties are in BG05 and YG06 – I was experimenting and found that the two colours really worked well together.  The butterflies are clear embossed on black ink on rich blue papers, and I then added some YG06 in the upper bits to blend it in with the overall feel of the card.  Oh, and the background inking is oversprayed with perfect pearls mist..blue.
Enjoy!
I am entering this card in the following challenges…
