“Ribbon and/or Lace” at Fashionable Stamping Challenges

“Wish Upon A…..”
Wow, what a challenge this was….but it was heaps of fun going through the op shops looking for lace…I came out with a bag full ~ and only needed just a tiny bit!

This is a gorgeous Santa Rosa stamp that every time I looked at it, I just couldn’t get the whimsical feel out of my head…so when I came across a feather boa at the op shop!
Well, I only needed one feather really…

I hope this close up gives you feel of the whimpsy-ness…..
The lace is from a netted table piece, and I just cut around the lace bits that I wanted and put them on the card.
The gold highlights are from some TH gold embossing powders just dabbed into the corners of the main card and the centre card.  Also I used some gold leaf flecks under some dome stickers and mounted on matching blue card as a highlight, I wanted to carry the gold feel through…all the card is distressed with TH Broken China and Victorian Velvet then sprayed with a fine mist of water.
And the blue ribbon is from my stash.
Oh, and I used acetate for the wings and put some glitter glue on the back, as well as on the butterflies and to highlight the dress.

I had heaps of fun with DI stains with this card.  The colours are vibrant Wild Honey, Fire Brick Red and Aged Mahogany.
The timepiece is cut out from a paper sheet, inked and covered in modge podge. It is then layered onto a circle of black cardstock which has been edged in 2 embossing powders ….I did this just to see what would happen and the effect is stunning… gold first, then chocolate sparkle on top.  The choc sparkle melts into the gold one! Beautiful.
The corner piece is inked in the same colours scrunched, overstamped with an ornament stamp and highlighted with a gold leaf pen just gently swiped over the creases.
The checker bits are just cut out of a papers sheet and edged in Aged Mahogany to blend in.
The stamps are TH birds and Faith Bird from Stamp It, and just inked in black ink. There is some script stamping over the background in wild honey.  Oh, and the wings are from a dance sheet that I got from Artistic Stamper ( and designed by ArtyJen).
Enjoy!

“Hand-Made Flowers” at Fashionable Stamping Challenges

 “Blooming Beautiful”
Hand Made Flowers is the theme this fortnight at Fashionable Stamping Challenges!!! And seeing as we are only weeks away from Spring here, I wanted to create a garden that is bursting with flowers and new life…now just to get that to happen in my garden…ummm

Firstly, a warm welcome to my new followers, thanks for joining in!

Well this is the first time I have ever made a hand-made flower…so I decided on some grunge ones! And I think they turned out just fine. I cut out some circles, inked them up (Faded Jeans, Weathered Wood and Broken China), scrunched, unscrunched, sprayed with water and put a brad in the middle to hold together, scrunched again and then tipped the edges with more ink (phew, that was a mouthful). And then put a little Kindy Glitz around the edges.
Checkout the flowers made by the other DT members…they are Awesome!
My background papers are layered, ripped, inked with Rusty Hinge and Faded Jeans DI and then rolled.
I have taken some inspiration from Claire’s last card at Fashionable Stamping Challenges, and have used acetate with tulips stamped onto it with StayzOn Ink. I have then turned it over and glitzed and inked it in patches using Rusty Hinge DI again.
The leaves are inked, scrunched, unscrunched and sprayed with water and placed under the acetate.
The tag is inked and stamped and a brad inserted.
Enjoy!
