Stylish Birthday

It is my turn at work to put on morning tea for one of the teachers at work (Happy Birthday Anne!)…so I made a card to go with it.  Every chance she gets, she goes up to her block at the Grampians, which is nestled in the mountains and surrounded by wineries.  Her own private retreat.  So, with that in mind I made this card.

The background is coloured with DI’s and stamped with an Inkadinkadoo stamp in black pigment ink. The vines are from a clear stamp set that I have. The words are hand made with some scrap pieces and edged with a fine liner pen to make them stand out. I have added some EP to some of the outside just to add effect, and then ripped the corners and added some embossed black card behind it…then layered onto purple cardstock.
So a simple card, with lots of colour to match the personality of the person it goes to.
Enjoy!

I am entering this in the following challenges ~
Birthday Sundaes – Birthday card with wording/sentiment
I Did It Creations – Eat, Drink and be Merry
Paper Playtime – Say it with Sentiments

Dreaming of a White Christmas

Fashionable Stamping Challenge
“Dreaming of a White Christmas”
A big warm welcome to Paula, the new fashionette over at Fashionable Stamping Challenges.
She has hit the boardwalk full pelt and come up with an amazing creation…as have all the fashionettes!!!!
Pop in, have a look and leave some love to give her a big, warm welcome.
In my part of the world there is no such thing as a “white xmas” ~ Just HOT, HOT, HOT!
Shades of trees, a dip at the beach, plenty of icy cold alcohol and seafood and salads is all part of my xmas.
Sooo… when I sat and thought about this challenge I had to think of cold…and all I could think of was ice.
The main image has had the cracked glass technique applied to give it a crystal effect (well, that was the aim anyway) and the edges of everything is smothered in picket fence crackle paint.
The background I have used 2 snowflake punches (a large and a small one) to make a stencil and I have inked up the background with these using DI stormy sky.
More snowflakes have been punched out and glossed with modge podge and a rhinestone added.
And that is about as icy as I can make it!!!
Check out the other fashionettes to see what wonderful and imaginative creations they have come up with, then put on your thinking caps and see what you can come up with…have fun with this challenge, I did.
Xmas is xmas, so pretty much anything goes!!!
Enjoy!

So I have basicially used 2 DI’s  (the main image was done in a darker blue so that it would stand out more under the cracked glass), 2 punches, picket fence distress crackle and some modge podge and that is about it.

“In Times Gone By”

A HUGE thankyou to Shirley for letting me write up the challenge this fortnight at Fashionable Stamping Challenges.  It was heaps of fun!
For this challenge, every time I sat down and thought about “times gone by” I kept thinking of a photo album.
And how much fun it is to look back at the past and be reminded of things and people from what seemed so long ago.  Things that we often forget.
Sometimes it is like another world, another time, another person around which things have happened.
When we remember these times it is always the good things that come to mind and bring a smile to our face.
And that is the inspiration for this card…

A little reminder that I am offering this card as a give-away when I reach 50 followers…so spread the word.

I have made a photo frame from an ivy stamp.
Picked a Tim stamp that is from a long time ago.
And put today’s generations looking back at the picture.
If you look closely you can see a baby, a lady and a granddad all looking at the photo.  They are stamped onto acetate and raised above the photo to give a hovering effect, but it probably looks better in real life.  It is difficult to get a good picture when acetate is used.  The baby is stamped, water coloured with DI and stuck to the underside of the acetate.
I have only recently bought my first 3 colours of alcohol inks, so I have used them all on both glossy cardstock (that’s the frame that I have cut out) and on acetate, which I used to cover over the photo stamp.  A little bit of blending solution was used to give the “spotlight” effect on the children.

Stamps that I have used include ~
Stamp It – Faith bird
??? – writing
Tim Stamps…a few
Crafty Individuals – CI 277
Artee Stamps – Miss Swanson
Imprint – Up Hill Ride
Hero Arts
Challenges that I am entering this beautiful card into include ~
Gingersnap Creations – Alcohol Inks
