Home Sweet Home

Home Sweet Home
At FSC this fortnight we are celebrating the “Home”
This can be any home you like, from under the sea, to bird houses, to animal habitats, to lighthouses guiding ships, to even an actual house!
The interpretation is up to you, and Marina from Cottage Crafts is offering an online voucher to the lucky winner, runner up and spotlights are also chosen along the way.

I have made a bird house.
The idea is from Joanna who made a beautiful one recently here.
And the free template for it, if you would like to give it a go,
is here.
I thought it would be fun to go with bugs…
Dragon flies, spiders, and geckos are the stamps this time around.
I don’t seem to have many suitable bird stamps
so I improvised.
To finish I used leaves as my decoration –
bare branches, ivy and gum leaves.
My final embellie is a grouping of gum leaves,
dangling from rings on the roof…
it just seemed to tie everything together I think.
Pop on over to Fashionable Stamping Challenges and
have a look at some of the awesome creations
that the stampettes have come up with.
Their imagination and talent is amazing and you might be tempted to join in the fun
of “Home Sweet Home”
Enjoy!

Let it Snow!

Let It Snow…
I have made another simple little Christmas card to share.
I decided to keep everything simple this year,
so that if I wanted to make a few then I could without too much fuss.
This one is inspired by Claire from a couple of months ago.
Thanks Claire, your background is awesome!!!
I have put my own vintage twist on it though with this gorgeous santa.
The snowflake stamps are from a xmas Chocolate Baroque set that I have,
The Santa is an old favourite from Stampers Anonymous
The inks are Distress blues and Adirondack denim
And the snowflakes are just punches and the blue ones have some pearl spray for a little glitz
Enjoy!
I would like to enter this card in the following challenges –

Farewell to a dear friend

Today we said farewell to a dear friend,
 Manya Dickinson.
I just want to say thanks for your friendship, cuppas and chats.
A funny rowing buddy – a little on the naughty side and heaps of fun!
And a lady through and through…
You have taught me soooo much,
lived life to the full,
and you will be so sadly missed.
I have never cried and laughed so much as I have over the last 2 weeks.

No comments necessary, just sending love.

Sassy Santa Wishlist

Now Wouldn’t This Be Nice….
It’s good to be a little sassy sometimes!!!
No matter how old you are…it is always good to smile.
I wonder if she remembers what to do with a list like this one! lol

I had to get one of the kids from school to show me how to use the digi’s, poor boy…
he had sooo much patience with me.
This is just a simple little card.
The background paper has some kindy glitz added for sparkle…
The sassy lady has some on her hat as well,
and some glaze on her earrings
I thought that if I added too much more to this that the funny side of it would get lost.
I have some single girlfriends who might get a kick out of this…
Isn’t it funny how the mind stays active while the body…well…lol
Enjoy!

A Christmas Wish

It’s Music at FSC!
Come join in the fun, and create something based around music…
the interpretation is up to you – from a song, to a dance, to instruments.
I have chosen a christmas theme for my interpretation.
Marina at Cottage Crafts is offering an online voucher to her store for the winner,
runners up and spotlights are up for grabs to!
The Fashionettes have some gorgeous inspiration for you so please pop on over to
FSC and check them all out and leave a little love…
My piece is a canvas to decorate my home with.
I have been so inspired lately by people working on canvas so I decided to give it a go.
This one is a 9″ x 12″ piece.
I have layered some different blues in acrylics and inks,
stamped,
pasted a torn up hymn song (Silent Night),
inked, painted and stamped some more.
Then stencilled into the corners, and built up with texture paste and painted some more.
The bauble stamp is a new one from Stampers Anonymous which I have coloured with distress markers and coated with clear embossing powder.
The chain is a metal necklace from an op shop and I have coloured it with viva paint…
which I also used to highlight other textured areas.
The words are chipboard and have been painted, sanded and a little stickles added for sparkle
…and rhinestones to finish with!

This is a close up of some of the detail.

Enjoy!
