Painty Fun!

Painty Fun!

It is my turn over at Visible Image to provide a little inspiration.

I’ve combined stamps from the ‘It Own’ and ‘Create It’ stamp sets, with arrows from the ‘Destination Unknown’  stamp sets.  What I love about these sets is the variety of stamps that are in each one!  There are so many possibilities with how you combine them.

For this card I’ve had heaps of fun with paint, using it in a variety of ways, from scraping it on with a credit card, to using lids, to stenciling, and stamping with bubble wrap.  The arrows came in handy to highlight certain words.

To see the new range and to see more information on them, please pop on over to the Visible Image Shop.

Aussie May Blog Hop

Build A Lighthouse

is another of the new stamp releases from Stampendous, and Julie from The Stencil Specialist thought this would be a very Aussie set to play with.  It is a gorgeous stamp set that has coordinating stencils with the set, and a matching die set.

I’ve just received my new distress oxides and couldn’t wait to have a play. The background circles are made with some of my play with iced spruce and faded jeans. The lighthouse and rock outcrop is with walnut stains.

It would be pretty fair to say that I loooove these new stamps!

Rule Of Three

Rule Of Three is the new challenge at Rubber Dance this fortnight.

I was recently at a craft retreat and decided to have a play with acrylic paint, gesso and ink and came up with this background.  Because it was in neutral colours I decided to keep the flowers white.

This was one of those pieces that was a play with building up a background … with no idea of where it was heading.

The string was added last as an after thought – but I think that it adds to the neutral feel of the card. For a splash of colour I’ve added a little yellow.

Stamps used are: Textured Flowers and Old Book Page.

A reminder that Rubber Dance will ship stamps for FREE, anywhere in the world on orders over 15 Euro!

I would like to enter this into the Craft Stamper May Challenge – Anything Goes

FSC – Going Wild!

Going Wild!

At FSC this month we are all going wild with our challenge.

Sandra has chosen the theme and thought that you could interpret this as wild animals, wild flowers or even wild parties.

For my card I’ve gone with a wild horse!

This card uses a stamp set from Visible Image called ‘Stay Wild’ so I thought it would be perfect for this challenge. To create the splashes of water behind the silhouette I’ve used a straw to blow the colour around.

One of the new things happening at FSC is that we will be having a Guest Designer each month. This month it is the fabulous Elisa Ablett, from Australia. You may have seen Elisa’s work recently in the Mixed Up magazine. To see more of Elisa’s work pop on over to ‘2 Crazy Crafters’ and be inspired by her unique creativity.

The girls at FSC have come up with some inspiring and very different takes on this theme. Please pop on over and check out their awesome creativity, be inspired and maybe join in the fun.

Ink Art Designs is our sponsor this month and has a gorgeous stamp set to give away to one lucky winner chosen by random org. We also have a top 3 chosen by the design team and Saturday Spotlights where we showcase inspirational makes. And the icing on the cake is that each month we will be having a guest designer chosen from the entries.

I hope that you join in the fun!

Outside The Lines

Outside The Lines

is one of the new sentiment stamp sets from Visible Image.

For the background on this card I’ve had fun with green and red distress inks. Normally these colours go muddy when they are combined … I was lucky this time!
Some background stamping, a little embossing and some doodling completed the look that I was after.
To finish, the words from the sentiment ‘Outside The Lines’ was kept very plain. This is to give a greater contrast to the background.
