Be Brave

Be Brave
We all go through those times when we need a little reminding that we can do it, or know someone who needs extra strength for whatever challenges they face.
That is where this card comes from…those times when a tear is near.

The butterfly has be coloured with alcohol markers
and attached to a background that uses the triple layer technique…
and oldie, but a goodie.
Of course, the background uses lots of inkiness.

Destination Unknown

Destination Unknown
is one of the fun new releases from Visible Image.
The paper hats/boats and planes reminded me of so many fun times as a kid…and even now seeing as I work at a school lol.

Gee, how much fun was it to see Visible Image back on Create & Craft?
The time difference fitted perfectly for me so I was able to watch it too.

This set has so many words to choose from that would be handy for a wide range of projects.
So words, all of them, became the backdrop for this card!
The words were stamped with picket fence distress paint and then gone over with distress inks…with some shadowing added.
The arrows were added to represent Adventure.
Like a treasure map.
The cat from Create It represents Explore.
As cats do!
And the paper planes represent Journey.
The paper planes come in three sizes with is an added bonus too.

Garden Magic with ATC’s

Antique Botanicals
is such a beautiful set of stamps from
Elegant, very feminine and totally irresistible.

For this challenge I’ve put together a set of three ATC’s.
The painty background was full of colour with splotches of white here and there.
It seemed just right to add some images stamped onto tissue paper from the Antique Botanicals set. The flowers are all so different and I wanted to show each one off separately.

My card uses the Retro Beach set.
This set, although used here on a card, is ideal for so many different types of projects including ATC’s, scrapbooking and background stamping in art journals.

This Retro Beach set was so much fun to use!
The background for this was a play with Fresco Finish paints, using my fingers to apply…
and then using bubble wrap to add another layer.
The background has images from the set, stamped onto tissue paper and applied to the painty back drop.
Finishing with a little layering of some random images from the set.
The discovery for me this time is how awesome the bubble wrap is after you have used it a few times and the paint has dried.  It hardens up and has some really interesting effects.
(yes, it’s the little things – always!)
