Stamp Sale

It is just past the halfway mark for a huge stamp sale that I have at my Etsy shop.

There is a massive 20% off all Visible Image stamps for the month of Feb.

This sale includes the new releases from the Creativation show in the U.S. recently.

These are extremely popular stamps and they’re moving fast.  There is still time to take advantage of the sale though.

I’ve a fantastic range of Visible Image stamps in the shop for you to see.

I’ve used shiny card as the base for my card this time.  I think that when you use shiny card the colours from the Brushos are more intense.

I sprinkled a little brushos into the corners of the card and spritzed with a little water. I did this from a height and aimed it towards the outside of the card so that it didn’t ‘fly’ everywhere.

Leaves were stamped with StayZon ink as it was onto shiny cardstock.

The leaves were then painted with some brushos.  Simply spray a little water onto your craft sheet and sprinkle in the Brusho crystals. It is really easy to paint on.

The sunrays were an after thought, but I was really happy with how it turned out. I made a mix of Brushos and water on my craft sheet and using a sponge I dabbed the Brushos through a stencil.
You don’t need much, the less the better. Just dab the excess moisture on your craft sheet so that the sponge isn’t too wet.

Butterfly Girl #2 has been a favourite stamp of mine for a while. She was stamped onto watercolour card to start with.  I sprinkled a really tiny amount of Brushos onto her wings, near her body and lightly sprayed with water. I let it dry naturally as I think the colours are stronger this way. The legs were coloured also with Brushos that had been watered down.

I discovered that the watered down Gamboge colour makes a wonderful skin tone.

Then I simply cut her out and attached to the card.

As a frame I’ve used a black fine liner and a ruler to draw a dotted line on and stamped some words to finish off.

Now it’s your turn to join in the hop!

One For The Girls at FSC

It’s time for a new challenge at Fashionable Stamping Challenges

and this is ‘One For The Girls’.

That’s right, this month we are asking you to enter your makes with girls on them into our challenge.
We had an amazing start to the year with the number of entries in the challenge, good luck to everyone who entered.

I hope that you are tempted to join in again this month.

This was made last year as a tutorial for Mixed Up Magazine and I’ve never blogged it.

Here are some pics showing how the background was gradually built up.  For me this is the fun part!  It’s were I just get to play with inks.

For the different elements that I was putting onto the background I’ve used stamps from a variety of stamp companies, Rubber Dance, IndigoBlu, Finnibair and Lost Coast Designs.

I’ve used this gorgeous lady stamp from Lost Coast Designs before which you will find here.

Teamie Avril put me onto this stamp years ago and is still a favourite of mine.

The girls at FSC have come up with some inspiring and very different takes on this theme. Please pop on over and check out their awesome creativity, be inspired and maybe join in the fun.

Ink Art Designs is our sponsor this month and has a gorgeous stamp set to give away to one lucky winner chosen by random org.

We also have a top 3 chosen by the design team and Saturday Spotlights where we showcase inspirational makes. And the icing on the cake is that each month we will be having a guest designer chosen from the entries.

Thank you for looking,

Rubber Dance Masterboard Tutorial

Hi everyone,

Today it’s my turn to share a tutorial over on the Rubber Dance blog here.

My set of three cards come from a masterboard which is fun to make.  So similar colours, winged things but with different matting just to show you how you can vary your cards a little.

I hope you enjoy my tutorial.

Just a quick reminder that the new February Challenge is now up and running at Rubber Dance.

This month we ask you to either use the colours orange, turquoise and lime on your projects, or hearts, or both!

There is some amazing inspiration to inspire you over there for the challenge.

And my tutorial too.
