Magpie’s Treasure

Magpie’s Treasure

is a card that I’ve made especially for Rubber Dance.

We have magpies all around the area where I live – noisy birds, but the warbling sounds amazing!  It’s nesting time at the moment so you need to be careful when you go for a walk or you might get swooped.  You have to respect the magpie!

… and my footy team is the ‘Magpies’, so I was instantly drawn to this stamp.  It has been designed by Melina Dahl especially for Rubber Dance – and she has done an amazing job!

If you would like to see how this came together, I have a step x step guide over on the Rubber Dance blog.

The Rubber Dance theme challenge – ‘Any Kind Of Embossing’ goes until the end of the month.

There is still plenty of time to enter so please pop on over and play along.

Rubber Dance stamps are also available from my Etsy shop – www.etsy.com/shop/inkartdesigns

You Are Beautiful

Beautiful You

is a gorgeous new stamp designed by Deborah Wainwright for Rubber Dance.

I’ve used this stamp as my inspiration for the Colour Challenge at Rubber Dance, which uses the colours: Green, Rust and Magenta.

For this card I’ve teamed it up with some flowers from the Textured Flowers.

I’ve stamped the flower in the center (Textured Flowers), masked it and then stamped the female image (Beautiful You). After masking this image I’ve then added another flower behind her.

A little masking fluid was applied in some select areas of the face and hair of the female image, along with the background flowers.  Once dry it was then swiped through Distress Oxides on the craft sheet and dried.   All that was left to do was add a little stenciling using a Dinky Stencil from That’s Crafty into the white areas, and then gently rub away the masking fluid.

Stamps used are: “Beautiful You” and “Textured Spring”

Taking The Plunge

Taking The Plunge

Rubber Dance have a new stamp release (yay!!! new stamps) along with a sale on the Retro Beach, Take The Plunge and Something Fishy stamps.

My card, to celebrate, is one that I’ve made using the Take The Plunge stamp set.

The background is made using my gelli-plate with stencils.  The lady fitted beautifully in the largest circle created with a stencil.  The by-law words on the set were handy for some background stamping and the sentiment fitted the relaxed mood of the lady.  The card is finished with some painty dots and lines for added interest.

Stamps used are from:
