Sing Out Loud!

The Sing set of stamps from Visible Image is definitely one for the girls!  She has attitude, she has style and she has flair.

Because she has such star power I’ve teamed her up with a heap of stars! This card doesn’t use any stamping techniques at all – it is stamping all the way.

The stars come from the Rock Out set and from the Feel The Beat set.  All of these sets were on Create and Craft in the UK last weekend and are so much fun to play with.  The background splatters are from the Somewhere In Time set. This set has so many hidden treasures that can be used for far more than the obvious.

The inks are archival, oxides and versafine.

I would love to enter the following challenges with this card:

Craft Stamper – September Challenge, Anything Goes

Simon Says – It’s Written In The Stars

Rock Out!

Rock Out

is another of my all time favourite stamp sets from Visible Image.

and the guitar player is one of the first stamps from Visible Image that I ever used, which you can see here.

This set had extra stamps added to it when the new packaging, and larger format of the sets, came out this year … and I have had a play with a few of them in the background for this card.  The “Rock Out” set is so versatile!

The oxide background has some of the star clusters discretely stamped into it, with extra stars stamped in oxides around the guitar player.

The star cluster is also used for the edging and to give the guitar player some grounding … and some little stars have been stamped and cut out for a little extra.

This was one of those cards that when you start playing with ink and stamps, well, you just want to keep playing … so I added some more stars from the “Universal” set and gold embossed them.

Love You Longer

Love You Longer

is a great sentiment stamp from Visible Image that can be used for so many things.

I’ve combined it with the feather from Learn To Fly Again for this card.

The background is made using alcohol inks and the sentiment is masked off and stamped in two parts.

I’ve made a quick 5 minute tutorial on the technique for creating this background

which can be found here on Youtube.

Dare To Swim

It is still Summer up in the Northern Hemisphere so I thought I would use the ‘Dare To Swim’ set by Visible Image.

The set comes with extra bubbles so it seemed a shame not to use them.  For this card I’ve added them to create a whirlpool of air bubbles as the jelly fish swims along.

Once again I’ve been playing with the Distress Oxides, whatever you do with this product it just leads to a whole heap of fun! The jelly fish and bubbles were stamped first, then masked off.  This technique has really taken my fancy lately and I’m still having fun with it.

Then the card was smooched through DI’s, dried, stenciled, stamped again and finishing with the removal of the masking.  I really wanted a water-line at the top so that the sentiment could be added ‘out of the water’.  But it just didn’t happen lol.  So that is why there is a ripped section – it’s my compromise.  The words are white embossed with a little black fine-liner added around the letters for shadowing.

Leave Your Fears

Leave Your Fears

This is a beautiful stamp set from Visible Image which I haven’t played with it for ages, so that needed fixing!

I’ve been slowly trying out the oxides to see how they compare to regular distress inks for different techniques … so for this card it is about seeing how it works with the ‘acrylic block’ technique.  And it worked!  The main colour used is Iced Spruce.  The splash of colour was Broken China, applied with a piece of plastic.  This is to fit in with the Splash Of Colour theme for this month’s challenge on Visible Image’s facebook page (link below).

A little doodling of hearts and a few splashes of black ink finishes it off.  It doesn’t feel like it needs any more than this.

Stamps used are from the ‘Leave Your Fears Behindset.

There is the monthly Show and Tell group on their facebook page.  Along with the new monthly challenge for those who would like to play along and be in with a chance to win spending money.

This month it is ‘Splash Of Colour’.
