Leave Your Fears

Leave Your Fears

This is a beautiful stamp set from Visible Image which I haven’t played with it for ages, so that needed fixing!

I’ve been slowly trying out the oxides to see how they compare to regular distress inks for different techniques … so for this card it is about seeing how it works with the ‘acrylic block’ technique.  And it worked!  The main colour used is Iced Spruce.  The splash of colour was Broken China, applied with a piece of plastic.  This is to fit in with the Splash Of Colour theme for this month’s challenge on Visible Image’s facebook page (link below).

A little doodling of hearts and a few splashes of black ink finishes it off.  It doesn’t feel like it needs any more than this.

Stamps used are from the ‘Leave Your Fears Behindset.

There is the monthly Show and Tell group on their facebook page.  Along with the new monthly challenge for those who would like to play along and be in with a chance to win spending money.

This month it is ‘Splash Of Colour’.

A Splash Of Colour

A Splash Of Colour

is the new theme for the challenge this month over at Visible Image on facebook.

There will be wonderful inspiration showing the different ways to add a splash of colour to your project by the DT, along with the entries into the comp.

A little lip colour and some shading on the face were added with my Inktense pencils, then I decided to draw some tears.

The background is from my stash.  The “Face It” stamp set is one that I haven’t played with much so it seemed like a good idea to play with it.  The best part of this set is how the placement of the parts is all worked out for you and you have a choice of eyes open/eyes closed.

My Name Is Bond … James Bond!

My Name Is Bond … James Bond

is a fun card that I’ve made using all three of the new stamp sets from Visible Image.

Everytime I looked at the sets I kept on seeing James Bond.  So that was the beginning of this card.  ‘James’ (from ‘Ahead Of Our Time’) is made using distress oxides and my Misti to create an interesting take on the gentleman silhouette.  The background is created using more distress oxides.

How awesome is the Alphabetical set of stamps though!  You can write absolutely ANYTHING with them.  There is no limit to what words you can make.

If you look closely you can also see the OO7 numbers scattered around the base of James.

And the large splat from the ‘Somewhere In Time’ set was used to create a border and to add some numbers to the background.  Just the edge of the spat in this set was used.  What I like is that you can use a little, or lot, of the splat to create a border.

Imperfection Is Beauty

Imperfection Is Beauty

is the stamp set from Visible Image that seemed ideal for my inspiration for the latest challenge at Visible Image this month.

The challenge is about making a project using 3D/layers.   I thought it would be fun to make a card with layers using the different types of flowers in this set.

There is lots happening at Visible Image at the moment.

The launch of three awesome stamp sets is on the 9th of June, coinciding with their shows on the Create and Craft channel on the 9th of June (can’t wait to play with these, they look amazing!)

Painty Fun!

Painty Fun!

It is my turn over at Visible Image to provide a little inspiration.

I’ve combined stamps from the ‘It Own’ and ‘Create It’ stamp sets, with arrows from the ‘Destination Unknown’  stamp sets.  What I love about these sets is the variety of stamps that are in each one!  There are so many possibilities with how you combine them.

For this card I’ve had heaps of fun with paint, using it in a variety of ways, from scraping it on with a credit card, to using lids, to stenciling, and stamping with bubble wrap.  The arrows came in handy to highlight certain words.
