It’s Just A Number

It’s Just A Number
at FSC this month.
That can be anything to do with clocks, special age, birthdays, anniversary, random numbers whatever you like really with numbers.
I’ve made a door!
Now…you might think that is an awfully looong street with this number on the door? Probably the longest street in the world!
After making the door I couldn’t think what number to put on it…
so I’ve used my birthday numbers lol
A little while ago I received a lovely surprise package from Shirley with door stamps in it (thanks so much Shirley). This was the perfect opportunity to use them.
The background was some scrap card from some experimenting with alcohol inks.  It had a gorgeous streaky effect. A wood grain stamp over the top of it gave it some character ~ and then the stamps did the rest.
I think it looks kind of real.
The girls at FSC have come up with some inspiring and very different versions on the same theme.
Please pop on over and check out the awesomeness of their creativity,
be inspired, and maybe join in our fun.
Flonzcraft are our sponsors this fortnight and have a generous $20 gift voucher up for grabs,
there are spotlights and a top 3 picked by the DT as well.

Stamping must be the focal point on your project!

Just a reminder that I am a stockist of Visible Image, Rubber Dance and Stampendous stamps in Australia.
…so, exciting times ahead. Details are on my sidebar, along with my e-mail addy for any enquiries.

Enjoy!

Heralding in the New Year

Herald In The New Year
This jazz player from the “Jazz it Up” set seemed like the perfect way to kick off the new year.
I hope everyone had a fantastic night for the New Year’s celebrations, partied hard and stayed safe.
For me…it was down at the beach, slouching back in a camper chair and letting the fireworks fall down right over the top of me. Catching up with old friends, meeting new ones and having a couple of quiet drinks…it was another great night of seeing out the old and heralding in the new year.
This is the beginning of my 2nd year with Visible Image and I can’t wait to see what exciting things Mark and Helen have in store for us all.
Mark and Helen have also settled into their new HQ and are raring to go.
The background for this one is quite simple, using alcohol inks.
The brightness of the colours make the silhouette of the jazz player stand out.  This Jazz It Up set has been a favourite of mine since the very beginning…so versatile and full of fun!
I love the new additions to this set and what has been introduced across the whole range at Visible Image.  The new stars from the Feel The Beat set were a perfect finish for this card.
For me, I have been adding to my stock and now have quite a good range of Visible Image stamps for sale in Australia….so, exciting times ahead. The link to the Visible Image shop is on my sidebar, along with my e-mail addy for any enquiries.

FSC – Trees

Trees
is our theme this month at FSC.
We all have some tree stamps right?  Now is your chance to play with them to your heart’s content.
This card is a simple Christmas card. Christmas seems to creep up on us doesn’t it?
The background is made using a mix of blue alcohol inks.
I love how this gives a real mottled effect, perfect for a night sky.
When you add drop or two of the blending solution, let it sit for a minute and then blot, it has a bleaching effect.
After working out roughly where the words would go, I used the blending solution to lighten this area.
The trees is a stamp from Stampendous called
‘Silent Night’
To finish I have splattered some white paint from a paint pen…I think it adds that starry night look. And a little white gel pen around the branches finishes this card off.

The girls at FSC have come up with some inspiring and very different versions on the same theme.

Have a Wonderful Day!

A quick and easy card!
Just a quick post today as I have the ladies coming over for a class and I really should be cleaning up instead on being on the computer lol!
But I couldn’t resist sharing this quick and easy card with you.
I have been playing around with alcoholic inks again – just add
…a little stamping
…and a little splatter of paint
card done!
I hope everyone is keeping well in blogland
and I really do wish you all a wonderful day!
Enjoy

“Hanging Five”

“Hanging Five”
is the name of a very well-known song
sung by the Delltones, which is just one of those summer classics.
It is only the start of winter here, but that is when some of the best waves happen isn’t it?
And when the shortest day happens next week, we are officially on the way to summer…well, in my mind anyway lol.
Those who know me well, know that I’m an optimist 🙂
This beautiful stamp is from Darkroom Door.
The background is done in alcohol ink, and looks amazingly like there is a sunset happening!  That was accidental, but it looks cool anyway.
Three of the surfboards are done in alcohol inks using a different style to give a marbled effect, cut out and added onto the card with magic mount for depth.
5 surfboards, so hence the title of this blog post…lol
Enjoy!
I would like to enter this into the following challenges ~
