I love Paris…even in the rain!

I Love Paris…Even In The Rain

At Fashionable Stamping Challenges this month we have the theme
of Winter In Paris!

Living nowhere near Europe, and with our seasons in Australia the opposite to those in Europe,
I had to really put my thinking cap on for this challenge.
I didn’t even know whether it snows in Paris!
So, my thoughts went to what I thought Winter was ~ and any-which-way I looked at it I couldn’t escape the rain!
So my piece for you this month has Wintry colours and rain.
The background uses purple and blue DI’s on an acrylic block that was lightly spritzed with water.
Then placed onto some white card.
A little water flicking,
and a little bleach,
and voila, that was my background.

My writing is a little dodgy,
but I think it suits the card just the same.

Masking is one of my favourite things to do, it adds so much depth…so
the stamping is done using masking to create layers.
Then I also used masking of the inked area to stamp some drips…to add another couple of layers!
In the end, this is a monochromatic one-layer piece.
And, even with it’s simplicity, it is one of my favourite makes for this year!
The girls at FSC have come up with some inspiring and very different versions on the theme this time.
Please pop on over and check out the awesomeness of their creativity,
be inspired, and maybe join in our fun.
Flonzcraft are our sponsors this fortnight and have a generous $20 gift voucher up for grabs,
there are spotlights and a top 3 as well.

Stamping must be the focal point on your project!

I hope you enjoyed this as much as me.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges~

“Getting Inky…Again”

Getting Inky…again!

I have been having so much fun with inky backgrounds lately!
This is a quick card that I made for a girlfriend’s birthday.

It is a long weekend here and I am enjoying just having a play…I should be doing the commitment stuff, oh well…tomorrow!
Sometimes, you just have to play.

A few of my favourite things are part of putting this card together…
a good smidge of distress ink, a little dylusional stuff,
some butterflies and a little bleach.
A bit of blending here…
and little splatter there…
and voila!

“Flowers”

“Flowers”
is the new challenge at Fashionable Stamping Challenges this fortnight.
The stamping must be the focal point of your creation…and follow the theme and you are win with a chance of winning!
It is shocking weather in my part of the world at the moment,
surging seas, wild winds, hail and rain…even a little snow a couple of hours up the road.
That’s as close as it gets to us as we live by the sea.
But like I always say, if I have to freeze my … off, then I hope it is snowing somewhere!
So it was great to sit down and think of Spring flowers.
This is another one layer card with some tiny punched butterflies added on.
I have used the ripping technique (a solid favourite with me)
in pink (yes, I am still working on the ‘pink’ in me).
When I look at this card I think it is the total opposite
 to what is happening outside.
The flower stamps are from Darkroom Door
and the butterfly is from Stampers Anonymous.
The girls at FSC have come up with some inspiring and very different versions on the theme this time.
Please pop on over and check out the awesomeness of the fashionettes,
be inspired and maybe join in the fun.

p.s.  I hope the sun is shining in your part of the world!

Enjoy!

“Vintage Girl”

“Anything Goes”
is the new challenge at Vintage Stamping Challenges this month.
Everyone loves an anything goes challenge! I sure do.
For this one I made a card with lots of ink and one of my
all-time favourite Flonz stamps.
The background is the wrinkle-free technique using distress inks,
which was stamped with the Japanese blossom stamp, with a little bleach added to white out the blossom.
Some over-stamping using writing and crackles…
a little embossing which was sanded and inked up…
and a heart stencil placed behind the girl were all used to make this main panel.
Some layers, distressing, ribbon and lace finished it all off.
The one thing that I absolutely love about VSC
is that I get to play at “pretty” and vintage cards.
You don’t have to do this though,
to join in you just have to have fun
and do what ever you like this time around.
I hope you take the time to pop over to
and check out the amazing talent and ideas from the team.
Flonzcraft is offering a generous $20 gift voucher to the winner,
he offers an occasional spot prize
and there is always a top 3!

“Splatter Fun”

Just Having a Bit of Fun
Sometimes we get so busy trying new things, and different techniques, that we don’t really know what it is that we actually love to do…
I have never really known what my style is, but I am just starting to
discover what I love to do…and embrace it.
Ripping paper for a mask is one of the the things that I always love to play around with.
This card is one that I made just for fun.
The Darkroom Door stamp is so versatile and so pretty…
but I was in the mood for grunging it up a little,
so I splattered some ink and added the butterflies.
(Splattering ink is another thing that I’ve discovered that I love to do…and dripping it)
A little bleach on the words (yep…another fun thing) to bring in the white…
and some purple on the white to balance it all.
The red I thought would be a nice contrast, and it is just some barn door DI
water coloured onto the image.
Just for fun I submitted this to the Craft Stamper
and was so surprised when they wanted to feature it
in the “Over To You” section!
Enjoy!
For fun I would like to enter the following challenges ~
