One For The Girls at FSC

It’s time for a new challenge at Fashionable Stamping Challenges

and this is ‘One For The Girls’.

That’s right, this month we are asking you to enter your makes with girls on them into our challenge.
We had an amazing start to the year with the number of entries in the challenge, good luck to everyone who entered.

I hope that you are tempted to join in again this month.

This was made last year as a tutorial for Mixed Up Magazine and I’ve never blogged it.

Here are some pics showing how the background was gradually built up.  For me this is the fun part!  It’s were I just get to play with inks.

For the different elements that I was putting onto the background I’ve used stamps from a variety of stamp companies, Rubber Dance, IndigoBlu, Finnibair and Lost Coast Designs.

I’ve used this gorgeous lady stamp from Lost Coast Designs before which you will find here.

Teamie Avril put me onto this stamp years ago and is still a favourite of mine.

The girls at FSC have come up with some inspiring and very different takes on this theme. Please pop on over and check out their awesome creativity, be inspired and maybe join in the fun.

Ink Art Designs is our sponsor this month and has a gorgeous stamp set to give away to one lucky winner chosen by random org.

We also have a top 3 chosen by the design team and Saturday Spotlights where we showcase inspirational makes. And the icing on the cake is that each month we will be having a guest designer chosen from the entries.

Thank you for looking,

Hiding In The Garden

Hi everyone, I hope you have had a wonderful Christmas and New Year.

We saw the New Year in by celebrating down on the foreshore and watching fireworks over the bay.  It was awesome to catch up with friends.  One of my friends has a goat which she milks each day … and has learnt to make goat’s milk feta cheese.  It was very more-ish!!!  I’ve never milked a goat so I think it might be kind of cool to have a go at it.

I’ll let you know how I go!

In the meantime, Rubber Dance usually have 2 challenges on each month – a colour challenge, and a themed challenge.  Starting this year the two challenges will run together as one challenge and go for the whole month.

You choose which one you would like to do!  Either colour, or theme.

The colours for January are Purple, Blue and Olive Green.

The Theme for January is VINTAGE.

I chose to follow the colour challenge.

My inspiration uses: Face-Up, Affirmations, Antique Botannicals, Crazy Flowers #2, Old Book Page and Round In Circles.

The background for my tag is a play with Dina Wakely acrylic paints – I just love the colours in this range. Some stenciling and stamping.  And now I have another tag to add to my tag book!

The Design Team has some amazing inspiration for you over on the Rubber Dance blog, so please pop over and take a look and join in the fun.  Bibi, the owner of Rubber Dance, is offering 12 Euro to spend at Rubber Dance to a randomly picked winner at the end of the month.

And if you would like to spend a little on yourself in the meantime, you are welcome to use the code DLFreeShip as the coupon code at the check-out, you’ll receive free postage on your orders.  Anytime, all the time, for everyone!

It’s All About Nature at FSC

The new challenge is now up at Fashionable Stamping Challenges.

And this month we are asking you create a project about nature.

This can be flowers, leaves, or even animals.

This month I’ve used some of my favourite quirky flowers from Rubber Dance.  The colourful background was made with Distress Oxides and the flowers I’ve kept in black and white for a little contrast.

Recently I took part in a card chain challenge and this is what I made for it – so now it has a new home up in Canada.

And I received a beautiful card in return – from Mauritius.  Sooo much fun!!!

The girls at FSC have come up with some inspiring and very different takes on this theme. Please pop on over and check out their awesome creativity, be inspired and maybe join in the fun.

Dreaming Big at Visible Image

Today is my last post on behalf of Visible Image because, as of the end of this month, I officially step-down from Team Awesome.

It’s been nearly two years and during this time I’ve ‘met’ and been friends with some really great crafters who are amazingly talented people.  I’ve learnt something along the way from each person in one way or another.

Thank you Helen and Mark for the most incredible journey, the wonderful opportunities, great support of me and for being friends.

This card uses one of the new word stamps from Visible Image called ‘Dream Big’.  This has been paired up with the eye from ‘Where Dreams Take You’.  I didn’t think of it at the time, but it kind of sums up Visible Image don’t you think?

To see the huge range of Visible Image stamps and to see more information on them, please pop on over to the Visible Image Shop.

Also at my Etsy shop – the link is on my side-bar.

Wild ATC’s

Theme Challenge At Rubber Dance

is now underway … and this time it is ANIMALS.  I hope that you have some time to come over and play.

I’ve decided to go wild and have used some animals from the ‘African Animals’ stamp set to make a group of 3 ATC’s.

There are 4 different wild animals in the set to use, with clever words that relate to each animal.

The animals have all been coloured with water-colour pencils and fussy cut.  The Merry Magpie set has been a favourite of mine, and I’ve used the extra bits for some stamping on these ATC’s.  The Textured Flowers set has a couple of leaves which look a little African, so they’ve been used also.

Please pop over to the Rubber Dance blog to see some more great inspiration and a great variety of animal projects used for this challenge.

A reminder that Rubber Dance will ship stamps for FREE, anywhere in the world on orders over 15 Euro!
