Mama Owl

Today I’m sharing a cheeky card that I’ve made for a friend’s birthday.

It is also part of the Rubber Dance inspiration for the current challenge.

For this challenge you can use the colour combo above, or alter something any way that you like.

I’ve used the colour combo for my card.

This challenge at Rubber Dance goes for the whole of April. I hope that you can pop on over and take a look at some amazing inspiration from the team.

It’s fun to join in on the challenges and there is an awesome 12 Euro prize up for grabs at the end of the month.

Happy Stamping,

Animals at FSC

It is time for a new challenge at FSC, gosh the months all of a sudden seem to be flying by so quickly.

This month our challenge is all about ANIMALS, a theme picked by Carola.

For my inspiration I’ve gone for a slow moving tortoise. At the moment I’m ‘farm-sitting’ in one of the most beautiful and relaxing parts of Australia – Halls Gap. Surrounded by the most glorious views and beautiful weather. After  only a few days I went into slow mode – so for this challenge I chose a slow moving animal.

This gorgeous tortoise is called Vacation from Carabelle Studio and sums up how I am feeling at the moment perfectly. The leaves are from the Four Seasons and Twiggy Leaves stamp sets from Rubber Dance. The background is Distress Oxides and the turtle has been coloured with water colour pencils.

It was interesting when I was packing to come here – all my clothes and personal stuff fitted on the front seat of my car easily … and my craft stuff just fitted into the rest of the car. Does anyone else travel this way?

The girls at FSC have come up with some inspiring and very different takes on this theme. Please pop on over and check out their awesome creativity, be inspired and maybe join in the fun.

Ink Art Designs is our sponsor this month and has a gorgeous stamp set to give away to one lucky winner chosen by random org.

We also have a top 3 chosen by the design team and Saturday Spotlights where we showcase inspirational makes. And the icing on the cake is that each month we will be having a guest designer chosen from the entries.

I would like to enter this into the Craft Stamper Take It, Make It Challenge (April) – Anything Goes

Happy Stamping!

Spring Has Sprung at FSC

It’s Spring now in the North, though it’s probably still a little icy in some parts.  I hope that the winter ice melts quickly and the colours and warmer days of Spring come soon.

Down here, when Spring comes, one of the first things that I notice is that birds are everywhere, gathering twigs to make their nests.  Then it isn’t long until you hear the chirping of the baby birds. It’s a busy time bursting with life.

With this in mind, I’ve made a card this time around with birds on it.

The main image is from Crafty Individuals with the eggs, flying birds, feather and bird word from Rubber Dance.

A Timmy bird on a branch is also used.

When I started this one I was focusing on birds, but after it was finished I could see that there is also a touch of Easter.

One For The Girls at FSC

It’s time for a new challenge at Fashionable Stamping Challenges

and this is ‘One For The Girls’.

That’s right, this month we are asking you to enter your makes with girls on them into our challenge.
We had an amazing start to the year with the number of entries in the challenge, good luck to everyone who entered.

I hope that you are tempted to join in again this month.

This was made last year as a tutorial for Mixed Up Magazine and I’ve never blogged it.

Here are some pics showing how the background was gradually built up.  For me this is the fun part!  It’s were I just get to play with inks.

For the different elements that I was putting onto the background I’ve used stamps from a variety of stamp companies, Rubber Dance, IndigoBlu, Finnibair and Lost Coast Designs.

I’ve used this gorgeous lady stamp from Lost Coast Designs before which you will find here.

Teamie Avril put me onto this stamp years ago and is still a favourite of mine.

Hiding In The Garden

Hi everyone, I hope you have had a wonderful Christmas and New Year.

We saw the New Year in by celebrating down on the foreshore and watching fireworks over the bay.  It was awesome to catch up with friends.  One of my friends has a goat which she milks each day … and has learnt to make goat’s milk feta cheese.  It was very more-ish!!!  I’ve never milked a goat so I think it might be kind of cool to have a go at it.

I’ll let you know how I go!

In the meantime, Rubber Dance usually have 2 challenges on each month – a colour challenge, and a themed challenge.  Starting this year the two challenges will run together as one challenge and go for the whole month.

You choose which one you would like to do!  Either colour, or theme.

The colours for January are Purple, Blue and Olive Green.

The Theme for January is VINTAGE.

I chose to follow the colour challenge.

My inspiration uses: Face-Up, Affirmations, Antique Botannicals, Crazy Flowers #2, Old Book Page and Round In Circles.

The background for my tag is a play with Dina Wakely acrylic paints – I just love the colours in this range. Some stenciling and stamping.  And now I have another tag to add to my tag book!

The Design Team has some amazing inspiration for you over on the Rubber Dance blog, so please pop over and take a look and join in the fun.  Bibi, the owner of Rubber Dance, is offering 12 Euro to spend at Rubber Dance to a randomly picked winner at the end of the month.

And if you would like to spend a little on yourself in the meantime, you are welcome to use the code DLFreeShip as the coupon code at the check-out, you’ll receive free postage on your orders.  Anytime, all the time, for everyone!
