Favourites at FSC

The Sound of Music
was the inspiration for this challenge.
For our challenge at FSC we ask that you either channel the
Sound of Music
Raindrops on roses
And whiskers on kittens
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens
Brown paper packages tied up with strings
These are a few of my favorite things
Or…
chose your favourite stamp!
wow…there so many possibilities!
Kittens, cats, raindrops cosy kitchens, paper bags, string
or favourite stamps.
One of my favourite stamps is this little girl.
She reminds me so much of me.
Or is it just my imagination?
This is me when at about the age of 1…just starting to walk.
A little younger than the girl in the stamp though lol.
We have Mother’s Day coming up next month
so you know where this one is going 🙂
The girls at FSC have come up with some inspiring and very different versions on the same theme.
Please pop on over and check out the awesomeness of their creativity,
be inspired, and maybe join in our fun.
Flonzcraft are our sponsors this fortnight and have a generous $20 gift voucher up for grabs,
there are spotlights and a top 3 picked by the DT as well.

Stamping must be the focal point on your project!

Just a reminder that I am a stockist of Visible Image, Rubber Dance and Stampendous stamps in Australia.
…so, exciting times ahead. Details are on my sidebar, along with my e-mail addy for any enquiries.

Enjoy!

FSC Modes of Transport

Modes of Transport
is this month’s theme at FSC
There are so many types of transport to pick from: bikes, boats, trains, planes, cars, tractors..the list goes on.
 A challenge for everyone!
This stamp of a bike on a bridge has been in my stash of stamps for some time and is one that hasn’t been used very often
so it was great opportunity to get it out and play.
This card uses a picture stamp as the focal image.
The inking is kept fairly simple and used to give a slight highlight to the image.
The bike on the bridge tells the story all by itself. So peaceful and reflective. The butterflies were an after-thought but somehow it manages to bring the whole piece together.
By keeping the background in neutral tones it helps to bring out the colouring of the image that little bit more.

It’s Just A Number

It’s Just A Number
at FSC this month.
That can be anything to do with clocks, special age, birthdays, anniversary, random numbers whatever you like really with numbers.
I’ve made a door!
Now…you might think that is an awfully looong street with this number on the door? Probably the longest street in the world!
After making the door I couldn’t think what number to put on it…
so I’ve used my birthday numbers lol
A little while ago I received a lovely surprise package from Shirley with door stamps in it (thanks so much Shirley). This was the perfect opportunity to use them.
The background was some scrap card from some experimenting with alcohol inks.  It had a gorgeous streaky effect. A wood grain stamp over the top of it gave it some character ~ and then the stamps did the rest.
I think it looks kind of real.

Winter or Spring at FSC

“Nature’s magic”
is what I am calling this card…it has that air of mystery and wonder when I look at it. Almost magical.
But firstly, I want to say how excited I am about a couple of visitors heading my way all the way from Ireland in a few months time.
It’s my boss!!!
Yes, Andrew and Shirley Chillman are coming to visit.
I’m trying to come up with an aussie nick-name for Shirley, but all I’ve got so far is ‘Chiller’ lol.
I’ll keep working on that one!
Back to this card though…
It is the middle of Winter in the Northern Hemisphere,
and everyone is starting to look forward to seeing the early signs of Spring.
This card has the bare trees, the early appearance of butterflies…
yes, Spring will come eventually.
Over here we still have to get through the heat of Summer before some cooler nights start to kick in.
The most challenging part of this card is where to place the butterfly!
When you stamp onto a piece of acetate you can move it around and see where the best place to put a stamp is.
The background is one of my all-time favourites –
which Wendy Vecchi came up with at CHA in 2014.
You can see the whole demo here.

Anything Goes at FSC

Anything Goes
is the theme this month at FSC.
We are all a little busy at this time of year with so much to do leading up to Christmas.
So this is a nice easy challenge to finish the year off with.
It is Summer here now in my part of the world so I thought I would share this nautical piece.
This is a card that I made for Australian Simply Cards magazine.
I love this guy, he reminds me of my father, though he looks nothing like him.  He used to work at the harbour here in Portland.
The stamp is from Stampers Anonymous.
Techniques used in this are masking, water colouring and acrylic block stamping.

The girls at FSC have come up with some inspiring and very different versions on the same theme.
