‘Tis The Season

‘Tis the Season
It’s my turn to choose the theme for the challenge at Fashionable Stamping Challenges this month…
So, for this challenge you can make anything that is Autumn or Winter…I hope that you have fun with it.
I’ve gone for a xmas twist.

Please remember to use a stamp as your focal image.
I’ve had heaps of fun just relaxing and playing with my water colour pencils for this card.
The image is called Snow Queen from Stampendous
which you can find here…isn’t she gorgeous?
The icy feel to this stamp made me feel like trying to create a kind of ice cave for her.
The blues are gradually built up, drying between layers.
With lots of drip effects from the water colouring.
Her hair has deliberately been left white, with a little stickles added for extra glam, and to also add to the iciness.
Another Chrissy card done! Feeling good!!!
The girls at FSC have come up with some inspiring and very different versions on the same theme.
Please pop on over and check out the awesomeness of their creativity,
be inspired, and maybe join in our fun.
Flonzcraft are our sponsors this fortnight and have a generous $20 gift voucher up for grabs,
there are spotlights and a top 3 picked by the DT as well.
Stamping must be the focal point on your project!

Enjoy!

Santa Claus Is Coming

Santa Claus is Coming…
yes he is!
Have you been naughty or nice this year?
I’ve been a very good girl…so I’m hoping that I’ve made it onto the ‘nice’ list.
Well…maybe I’ve been just a little bit naughty lol – I’ll have to cross my fingers and hope for the best!
When I saw this Santa Claus stamp set I knew that he had to bring me some pressies…so I made a chimney for him to drop down using one of the extra bits in the Teenage Kicks set and the stars in the night sky are from the Feel The Beat set.
The chimney was heaps of fun to make. I love how the bricks can be turned up-side-down so that they slot together perfectly.

“Things are HOT at FSC!”

Heat It Up!!!
That’s right…it’s heat gun time
And it is our last challenge for the year.  This one will run for a month so that we can all enjoy the season, friends and family.  We look forward to seeing you again in 2015!
On with the challenge ~
there are so many things that you can use your heat gun for, and
if you are like me you probably use one with just about every project that you work on, without even thinking twice about it.
I know that it is a busy time of year, but if you need a break from the maddening crowd…and feel like a little crafty play…
then this is a nice easy challenge for you!
For this challenge I have decided to make just one more chrissy card.  I was quite taken with the idea of creating a vintagey bauble that looked real…and this is what I have come up with.
Firstly, for the background I have clear embossed some snowflakes
– heat gunned it!
Then I wrinkle free distressed it
– heat gunned it!
The small bauble (with Santa) is triple clear embossed
– heat gunned it!

The Santa image was heat-set before the embossing
– heat gunned it!

And to finish off, I randomly added some silver embossing powder on the edge of the card and bauble
– heat gunned it!
I’m starting to feel a little like ‘Annie Get Your Gun’ lol.
The girls at FSC have come up with some inspiring and very different versions on the theme this time.
Please pop on over and check out the awesomeness of the fashionettes,
be inspired and maybe join in the fun.

Remember, stamping must be the focal point of your creation…and then just follow the theme and you are win with a chance of winning!

Enjoy!

I would also like to thank you all for some pretty awesome comments left on my blog this year ~ you have given me encouragement and support in ways that I can’t explain ~ and thank you also for taking the time to follow my blog.
A few people have decided to move on from here so I really do appreciate those of you who have stayed.  And a big thank you to those of you who are new to my journey…
you never know what is ahead 😉
Thank you!

…and a very Merry Xmas from me and mine
to you and yours!!!

Christmas Tag

It is ‘Christmas Tag’ time
at FSC this fortnight.
Everyone is in full swing with their xmas cards and there are some gorgeous cards all over blogland!!!
Me…I’m a little slow to get going this year (again)
and the chance to make a xmas tag really was very welcome here!
This tag has a marbled distress paint background and some 2nd generation stamping of snowflakes from Kaszazz. This Stampendous angel has been…slowly…cut out and water coloured with distress inks.  Then I decided to add some feathers to the back of her to give her that ‘high in the sky’ feel.

The rest is just some holly and doves and a sentiment stamped onto some ribbon that has some distress ink added to it so that it blends in with the card.
A tip with this – use Staz-on ink for this (the others run a bit).

“A Cold and Frosty Xmas”

Cold and Frosty Colours
is the theme this month at Vintage Stamping Challenges
This challenge runs until the new year so it is up to you whether
you make a Christmas card
or just take a little break from the festive season and play with the colours.
It can be relaxing to just do something totally different after the big day…
However, I’ve gone with a xmas card as I am soooo far behind with these
and added heaps and heaps of sparkle.
A one layer card.

This ripped technique I first saw done by our DT sister Brenda here
and it has quickly become a favourite of mine.
I have used the cold colours of Distress Inks,
used a snowflake stencil,
the glitter technique is from TH (Day 5 of CC102)…I love the sparkle that it adds.
~ then I’ve finished off with dripping some Fresco Finish paint and addiing a little
rock candy glitter while it was still wet.
The main stamp is from Flonz
and is found here.
My discovery while playing this time is that
when you stamp onto shiny paper with Brilliance black ink
and then over stamp with the same image ~ no masking is necessary as the ink moves aside
and makes it look like you have done the masking anyway!
I hope you take the time to pop over to Vintage Stamping Challenges
and check out the amazing talent and ideas from the team.
Flonzcraft is offering a generous $20 gift voucher to the winner,
he offers an occassional spot prize
and there is always a top 3!
