Tag It….

Hi, it’s time for a new challenge at
Fashionable Stamping Challenges and this fortnight it is …
All you need is a tag somewhere on your creation.
I haven’t made a tag since last time we had a tag challenge
~ challenge #4 in Sept 2011….and that was my first one!
OMG, it’s been awhile!!!!! I might have to do something about that! lol
This tag was heaps of fun to make…
but it sort of spilled out over the edge so I just added it to a card.  (I just couldn’t resist!)
It is male orientated and steampunk inspired.
My favourite part is the off-the-edge cogs.
It was sprayed with dylusional brown and black,
spritzed with copper mist,
run through a cog embossing folder
and distressed with a little black to make the crevices stand out more.
Some words of wisdom, a bit of ideology
a splatter of paint and a flying man is all that is needed!
I hope you have enjoyed this piece of fun.
Flonz has a generous $20 voucher for the winner

along with the stampettes top pics, Saturday spotlights
and the occasional guest designer who plays along with us. FSC is a busy place to be!

Please pop over to FSC and check out the awesomeness of the stampettes!!!!
They are amazingly creative people with some wonderful ideas.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges…

For My Mum….Happy Mother’s Day!

A Touch of Elegance….
with a little lace and pearls
is the latest challenge at Vintage Stamping Challenges.
With Mother’s Day coming up in this part of the world
I thought I would take the opportunity to make mum’s card with this challenge.
She is from a time when every Saturday night everyone followed the dance hall circuit.

I think this Flonz Image is perfect for her.

This is my first go at a twisted easel card…

The background papers are a freebie from Astrid’s Artistic Efforts.
which I have just added a little ink and stamping to.

The top part of the card is suppose to be ultra femine…
so heaps of lace and swirls and pearls
and of course ~ the colour purple
(I heard somewhere once that older people loooove purple)

The really wanted to create a cascading effect from the top card through to the bottom front corner.
Keeping the theme flowing through.
I did grunge up the flowers a little with some gesso
(I just couldn’t resist it)
and it takes off that “just bought” look.
And heaps of hearts because I love my mum.
(does that make up for calling her old??? lol)
Flonz has a generous $20 prize for one lucky entrant
which can be spent on a huge range of goodies from his on-line store.
And they are cheap…so you can get heaps of them!
The Design Team have once again come up with some
outstanding examples of how to showcase these stamps…
so please be inspired

“To Die For”
is the challenge this fortnight at Fashionable Stamping Challenges.
This one is all about using your die cut machines…or punches!

The Stampettes have had heaps of fun coming up with some awesome projects to share and inspire you,
so grab a cuppa and pop on over to FSC and
see what everyone has been up to!

I have chosen hearts for my dies.
I have die cut patterned paper, some double-sided paper and added glitter, embossed some…
and then I added lots of sparkle to absolutely everything!
We have a teacher from work due to have a baby soon, and I am guessing a girl.
(I’m going with the old saying of
“high for a girl, low for a boy”)
We’ll see if the saying is right this time lol….

I hope you enjoy the awesomeness of the girls at FSC and
are inspired to join in the fun!
The theme is open – all you need is a machine or a punch.

We are a stamping challenge so we do need to see some form of stamping on your project,
also no digi stamps are allowed.

The stork stamp is one from Stampin Up and it is the only stamp used this time around.
I am entering this card into the following challenges ~

A Very Vintage Xmas

A Very Vintage Xmas
The November challenge at Vintage Stamping Challanges is all about colour!
Red, Green, Purple and Blue!

You can use these colours in any combination you like, or use them with a
christmas twist
so that you can cross another card off your list.
Join in the fun this month and be in it to win a ngeerous $20 voucher from Leo at

Leo has a gorgeous range of stamps and it seems to be growing all the time, well worth checking out!

The background card is done in the wrinkle free technique
using red, orange and greens.
The lovely lady is coloured in distress markers.
And everything is layered up with a little bling here and there
and a little sparkle too.

Good Things Come In Small Packages

“An ATC Swap”
This fortnight at FSC we would love to see what “little things” you can make.
Just so long as it has stamping on it it is elibible to win
a wonderful prize from Marina’s Cottage.
I have made 3 ATC’s (my first ones)
and thought that a swap would be fun!!!
All you need to do to play… is to be a follower,
in the comments say that you would like to be in the swap…
and which one you would like to swap with.
I only have 3, so I will do a random draw for each one
for those playing…
(on the 21st of Sept)
And that’s it!
All three are totally different and each reflects a piece of me.
If there is a common thread then I guess it is the colour blue, they are summery…
and lots and lots of distressing.
“Bevy of Butterflies”
Just because I love butterflies…
it represents Spring, new life and abundance!
The style of this one is using distress inks, flicking water and creating a 3D effect.
“Bring On Summer”
This one is inspired by the sea, where I live…
it is simply summer to me.
The style is splodging into ink to give a watery feel and covering with a glimmer mist.
This one has and inked and dry embossed background that has been sanded and a light covering of blue added over the top for definition.
The pins are handmade.
The overall feeling is contentment and relaxation (really!)
The idea behind this is as a follow up to the ATC box that I made a few challenges ago.
It seemed like a good idea at the time but it has been sitting empty on my bench ever since!!!
I think it would be fun to start dabbling in swaps so here I go…
