“A Birthday Card for Someone Special”

“A Birthday Card for Someone Special”
is the new challenge over at Fashionable Stamping Challenges!
Remember, stamping must be the focal point of your creation…then just and follow the theme and you are win with a chance of winning!
I picked this theme…only because it is my birthday soon (sssh)
Seeing as though you don’t usually make a card for yourself though,
I have chosen to make one for my mum instead.
She can’t grow plants for nuts – she plants them and then the rest is up to them if they survive or not ~ so every year she has to put in some new plants to replace the ones that didn’t make it.
But she does love roses so I made a card with a single rose
just for her.
She doesn’t like any fancy cards…so I have kept this one pretty simple.
Though I did have a little fun with some grunge paste around the edges.  It is applied randomly, then coloured with DI and swiped over with the ink pad  (my new favourite thing to do).
A little background stamping…and there you have it!
And now to hide it until her birthday.
The girls at FSC have come up with some inspiring and very different versions on the theme this time.
Please pop on over and check out the awesomeness of the fashionettes,
be inspired and maybe join in the fun.
Flonzcraft are our sponsors this fortnight and have a generous $20 gift voucher up for grabs,
there are spotlights and a top 3 as well.

Enjoy!

‘Summer Blooms’

‘Summer Blooms’
is the new challenge at Vintage Stamping Challenges
for the month of June.
We are a stamping challenge so combining that with some flowers
will qualify you for this challenge.
This rose stamp is one of my all time favourites
from Flonzcraft (though there are a few that are my favourites)
and you can find here.

It was a challenge to use it in a way that I haven’t tried yet.
So this time I have used it stamped onto a
mixed media background.
I have applied grunge paste with a palette knife,
and a little more through a stencil before covering with gesso
and Fresco Finish paint…then stamping of course.
I hope you take the time to pop over to
and check out the amazing talent and ideas from the team.
Flonzcraft is offering a generous $20 gift voucher to the winner,
he offers an occasional spot prize
and there is always a top 3!
Enjoy!
