Alter It
is the challenge this fortnight at FSC!
The DT’s have exceeded themselves and come up with some of the most creative and inspiring pieces that you will see.
Marina from Cottage Crafts is offering an on-line voucher
to the top pick from the DT’s.
The thought process behind my efforts this fortnight was a little hindered
in that I drank a few bottles of wine
so that I could use the bottles…
then I saw an altered block of wood over at
The Artistic Stamper by Lori
and changed my mind!!!
My block of wood was covered in gesso first and then some distress inks
~ then I changed my mind and painted over it with some metallic water-based inks.
Then I stamped some leaves onto some tissue paper and glued it around the edges of each side
to create a frame.
After looking at it for awhile I decided to add some texture paste around the edges of each side,
blended more metallic paint for lushness
Finally I stamped up some dylusional images and coloured them with distress inks,
carefully cut them out
and attached them to the block of wood.
I have to admit that I thoroughly enjoyed this project.
– stamps are from Flonz and Dylusions
– inks are distress inks and metallic inks
– wood is pine, chunky and knotted
– still collecting wine bottles…just in case…

Enjoy!
