Butterfly Beginnings
is one of the new sets from Visible Image‘s Summer release 2016.
We all love butterflies don’t we?
It was a challenge for me to think up something with butterflies on it that was just a little different.
This set has 2 different sizes, the small one fits perfectly over the Butterfly INKognito set!
If you are looking for some butterfly ideas, there are some gorgeous samples from the Visible Image team on display in the projects gallery, here.
I have had a little craze on using Distress Paint lately, so this card is nearly all done using chipped sapphire, salty ocean and brushed pewter distress paint. I love the sheen that the pewter gives…just a little hint of sparkle that is really nice.
The stamping is done with distress inks – peacock feathers and stormy sky – which kind of match the paints, giving a lovely tone-on-tone effect.
I’ve used the splattered words from the Revolution set and the diamonds from the De-stressed Background set on the background.
And part of the Visometry Set 6 (the small shape) something a little different in the background.  The fun thing with this shape is that when you turn it around it has diffent visual effects…the way I have used them here has really ‘popped’ on the background!
The butterflies are stamped and embossed on watercolour card.  A little water is added to the butterfly.  The distress paint is watered down and added to the centre of the butterfly – so that it spreads out.  Fun!!!!
