Today sees the start of the April Challenge at Rubber Dance.
You will find the challenge on facebook and your prompt is a Mood Board.
The inspiration for my card comes from the blue in the colour section along with the flowers.
The background was a piece made after a day playing with my gelli plate.
The honey comb effect has been made using a thinlet.
The honeycomb card was coloured to match the background.
It tended to blend into the background a little too much for my liking so
a black marker was used to edge around each of the holes.
Combining water colours with pencils has been my favourite thing to do lately.
These two mediums work beautifully together.
Firstly the water colours lay down a bit of colour and then
the pencils are used to bring the colour out a little more.
This is how the flowers, from Loose Florals #1, were coloured.
The bee, from Buzzy Bees, was left plain as it seemed to lift the whole card.
To me it would’ve felt too ‘heavy’ if the bee had’ve been coloured.
There is also some background stamping using Old Book Page
and a net from Retro Beach.
The circles were part of the gelli print pattern.
They were coloured with gesso and then painted blue to
bring everything together.
There has been some colouring of the circles with pencils to make them appear 3D.
Please pop over to the Rubber Dance blog and see what the team have made
to inspire you with the Mood Board themes.
The Rubber Dance team has grown and we now have inspiration
for you on the 1st and 15th of each month.
As well as daily tutorials for you all month long.
Hopefully I’ll see you there.
