is our kick-start challenge for 2015
at Fashionable Stamping Challenges.
I hope everyone has had a wonderful festive season and is recovering gradually
…I am doing ‘boot-camp’ and rowing whaleboats again, in training for the championships coming up in February (yep – I’m a sucker for punishment), so my old muscles are a little tender some days.
But I do love the competitiveness of it all and it is a great day out.
As for xmas, not even one new craft gadget did I get!!!
- Luckily I had a couple of stamps that hadn’t seen ink, so they were perfect for this challenge.
- A new technique.
- And trying to master something that has had me stumped…forever!
– and so I had the ingredients for this challenge
My new stamps are the sentiments and net stamps which are from Kaszazz.
The new technique was inking a block with some distress ink,
spraying with a fine mist of water and applying it to cardstock.
An oldie, and simple I know, but I just had never got around to giving this a go!
And I loooove it!!! Quick, easy…and it gives some white space if you don’t over-do the ink.
(less is more)
Tip: you will have left-over droplets, so use them up on your piece.
– a bit like the wrinkle free technique.
And the dreaded cropodile…which I have had for years…
Guess what! I have finally learnt how to use it!
The trick here is to not over-squeeze it…
and KEEP YOUR EYES OPEN!!!
Scary stuff though as it is usually the last thing that you do, and if you muck it up
then you have to start all over again.
~ so bravery and belief-in-myself is paramount.
(o.k. ~ my ‘plan B’ was to put some ribbon through the holes, or hot-glue them them on, to disguise any mishaps)
I hope you like my card.
The girls at FSC
have come up with some inspiring and very different versions on the theme this time.
Please pop on over and check out the awesomeness of the fashionettes,
be inspired and maybe join in the fun.
are our sponsors this fortnight and have a generous $20 gift voucher up for grabs,
there are spotlights and a top 3 as well.
Remember, stamping must be the focal point of your creation…and then just follow the theme and you are win with a chance of winning!
