Rub On Resist
This time I am sharing a sailing card…
which has been inspired by Tim’s May 12 tags
and still going with my teenage boy theme this week.
I live in a seaside city and occassionally we have The Endeavour sailing ship calling into port.
I have been on board this ship ~ and it is amazing!!!
It is a replica of the ship Capt. James Cook sailed around the world in between 1768-1771 ~ recording the first European sighting of the Australian east coast and they also recorded the first sightings of our aborigines…
(and set the scene for white settlement of our great country)
~ they then moved onto New Zealand and the Pacific Islands.
Capt James Cook died at Hawaii on his third voyage.
It is this history and interest that attracted me to this stamp in the first place.
I have never done a rub-on before…so I had to
visit a friend and borrow an icy-pole stick!
Then the grunge came out!
I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed making this card.
I hope you enjoy it too.
I would like to enter this card into the following challenges `
This is fabulous Dot, I love the imagery created by the rub ons and gorgeous colour palette. This would fit perfectly with our brand new challenge at Crafts-Too Challenge You with the decade/era theme.
