Summer/Icecream
Wow, another FUN challenge at FSC!
Especially as ice cream comes in so many colours these days.
(and I hear the sun came out in England)
Summer holidays are the best fun, especially for me as I live by the sea.
Where I live winter is drawing to an end,
the nights are just beginning to draw out a little
and summer is on the way!
This fortnight I am inspired by Terry, Yvonne and Silvia who have been dabbling in dylusional inks lately
and decided to have a play too.

One of the things that I did with the inks was to dip a paintbrush straight into the bottles of ink and use this to touch up the main image
(yellow on the girls clothing and blue in the sea)
(and a little extra yellow on the banners just to lighten things up).
It turns out that I am not all that good at using paper towels to lighten things and my excuse is….
that it is due to the printed patterns on it
(I keep forgetting to buy plain stuff)
~ so I have devised some other, trickier ways of toning things down.
I have white embossed the shells and just added a hint of colour,
added white netting,
put in some seagulls (I just took them off a Kaisercraft stamp and 3D’d them),
dry embossed and sanded the background – then flattened it again
(thanks Terry for that idea)
and finally adding some watered down gesso around the edge to look a little like melting ice-cream
(no – it has nothing to do with the seagulls!)
Check out the awesomeness of the DT’s, be inspired and
join in the summer fun at FSC,
be in with a chance for a voucher at Marina’s Cottage Craft on-line store
A huge thankyou to the people who have chosen to follow me recently, I will be by to see your wonderful creations too and to return the favour shortly if I haven’t already!

Enjoy!
