It is Clean and Simple
over at FSC this fortnight.
And the twist for this challenge is that it is a one-layer project too!
I have been on the Design Team at FSC for 2 years…
and I have spent ALL of that time learning about layers and embellies
and this time around I have to tone it down.
So funny!
However I think this style adds a freshness to a card. What are your thoughts???

I think the trick to this type of challenge is a good stamp, good colours
and knowing when enough is enough.
…And walking away (a tough one!).
This card is inspired by something that I saw in Craft Stamper
(but I can’t find the issue to let you know)…but without the embellishments.
The heart is from spellbinders, and I have inked up the inside of it
with distress stains that have been blended with a dry brush.
Black fine-liner has been offset around the shape, using the cut-out heart shape as a template.
And the flourish was added because I just had to extend it a little lol.
Extra hearts and some words are stamped in to finish it off.
The main image is from Flonzcraft and is called
The girls over at FSC have some great inspiration to help give you ideas on different techniques and tempt you into joining in the fun with us!
Don’t forget we have Saturday Spotlights, a random winner and the DT’s pick a top 3 as well.
Flonz generously donates a $20 prize to the winner,
and even joins in at times with a surprise prize…
I hope you find some time to join in the fun with us.
Enjoy!

I have been having a great time this morning looking at all the wonderful one layer cards of the team, and yours is no exception!! Stunning and I totally agree with your ideas on the ingredients needed for the success of these, well done, yours is a stunner!
Craft Stamper January 2013 Emilie Chamel – I remember the cards well (plus it's the edition I was in so it sticks in the mind for some reason!!)
Love your version Dot. Bet it took every ounce of strength and reserve not to pop a small embellishment on, and it works so beautifully without one. Hugs, Jenny x
Fab CAS card – I love that glowing heart against the simple background.
